The larger cities in Spain and Italy put Sturgis to shame for the # of bikes (if you include scooters). Filtering rocks. We went in a department store in Milan and found (near the Calvin Klein section but before the umbrellas) a great selection of motorcycle gear. Week-old French bread is still better than fresh Italian bread. Big-bore bikes are few and far between. I could count the cruisers I saw (over 14 days) on one hand. |

Not that I know of. There were quite a few bikes I hadn't seen before, these were just the ones standing still when I had a camera handy. Most popular bike in Barcelona - any BMW. Most popular in Rome - Ducati Monster followed closely by the Honda Hornet and Kawi CB-6? (Kawi's Hornet). Saw lots of Guzzi's in Italy. Only a handful of non-Monster Ducs. Only Aprillas were scooters and 50cc race-reps. I got a kick out of all the 2-stroke race-replicas (Aprilla and Yamaha mostly). Went all over Barcelona but only saw 2 gas stations? |

Peter, yes the TDM was imported here for a year or 2. Slow seller tho & I believe it was yanked. |

Thats an expansion chamber for sure with a muffler at the stinger. Has anyone seen the pipes on some of the competition chain saws on ESPN?, probably 36' long. |

I'm with Swampy but that curved pipe & small muffler looks like it would kill a lot of the power gain. I had expansion chambers on my Kaw triple & could never keep the packing in the glass packs. Everybody knew when I was out & about as they said it sounded like a "herd of P/O Bumble Bees" |

Ok it kick starts on the left under the passenger peg & its a 2 stroke so its not a single gear. Could be a cvt but I'd think gear selects on the left grip/bar with an auto clutch & both bar levers work different brakes. Just a SWAG here. Anybody know? |

You can ride a 50cc legally here in France with no licence or registration, (handy if you've lost your licence) Yes that is an expansion chamber with a muffler, it's turned over for space saving, aftermarket tuning stuff for scooters is BIG business here. Problem is the little b*****ds who ride them have no road sense & not enough power to get out of trouble when it catches them up (usually me running at 40 tons) Also as they're not registered anywhere theft is a huge problem, consequently there's talk of licencing and registration. The worst thing though is the noise, they sound like an angry wasp on steroids trapped in beer can. |

i saw a couple of those gilera scooter/sportbikes in hong kong... they're amazing! |
