Well, I finally got the old bent header off and the new one back in after freezing the crappy evo style gaskets (thanks to someone on this board for that tip, don't remember who) to get them in. I was a bit of a wrestling match to get it bolted up. I think I got it in well without collapsing the gaskets into the passage, but who knows. Here's the possible problem: I tightened all four nuts evenly a bit at a time until they were snug and felt like the gaskets were crushed. Then I got out the service manual to set my torque wrench and realized they are only supposed to be torqued to 72-96 in-lbs??? That seems quite low. I am afraid I have probably got them tighter than that already. My torque wrench doesn't even go that low. I don't want to loosen them. Do I leave them if they are a little too tight, or pull it all out and start over with new gaskets? |

Personally I would just run it. |
