What is the difference between the gearing in the XB9 vs the XB12? Whats more desirable for the track and whats more desirable for the street on an XB12 chassis? Erik |

Both bikes have the same transmission and final drive. (Check the gear ratios on Buell.com) The only difference between the two is the primary chain/sprocket. The XB9 models have a shorter ratio which improves acceleration. It does reduce top speed however. The two setups can be swapped. Here is a gear ratio calculator to show you the difference: www.froggypwns.com/Buell%20Gearing.xlsx |

Cool thanks for that! I know a guy around here that has an Xb12cg and he said he had something out of an XB9 transmission to make it "shoot to 100mph really quick". I got to thinking that would be an amazing add on to in order to blast around stop and go traffic. Erik |
