Hi Guys. I have a bit of a problem with my 1125. It seems the clutch, given the littlest bit of pressure, wants to engage. I was wondering if this is normal for the clutch to engage that far out on the lever travel? Does the clutch itself need replaced? Thanks in advance! My bike is an '08 1125 that was a dealer demo. Is it possible the clutch was abused prior to me buying it? All of the "upgrades" were supposedly done to it and I've had no clutch leaking fluid problems to speak of. Mine feels that way as well, took a little getting used to. I used the lever adjustment to move the engagement point a little closer to the grip, and I only pull the lever all the way to the grip when coming to a complete stop, etc. | ||

try bleeding it and make sure the nut is not loosening up under thw horsey cap | ||

It is normal for the 1125 clutch to engage almost a the end of the lever travel. It is hydraulically activated and not adjustable. However it couldn't hurt to bleed the system just to be sure. | ||

That's how mine works from day one and the same thing on my old fj 1200 Yamaha. | ||

This hydraulic clutch has a very narrow "friction zone", the lever travel that has only partial engagement. Think "slipping the clutch" As Mechanicsn said, adjust it in a little to put the friction zone closer to the middle of travel. After riding this a while, cable clutches feel very coarse and clunky.
