Amen. And a CEO, specifically hired by them, who happily writes himself $6.8 million during debacle performance, massive job losses and dealers going under. Enron type greed and lack of morality. Vote them and him out. Of course that would mean you'd need to own shares, and everyone with a brain is selling the stuff off. |

quote:Analysts at Gradient Analytics predict things will only get worse this year. During the 12 months through September 2009, Harley-Davidson shipped too many motorcycles to dealers, and inventories rose at the company as well, Gradient says. Plus more motorcycles have been sold on credit in recent years, Gradient says, suggesting that -- just like in the housing market -- more sales could go bad if employment remains soft.
Looks like they're in for a long year. The two dealers near me are damned near empty. I've never seen their floors so sparse. Now if only I could figure out what Formula+ is, I'd not have to go back there. |

latest promotion is called walk away- if you can't make your payments, you can get out from under. talk about selling on credit to customers who can't afford the payments! bet a lot of low mileage hogs will be out there. and not all younger buyers are into the cruiser thing. at least not from what i read on badweb!!! |

Now if only I could figure out what Formula+ is, I'd not have to go back there Ha... that's the only reason I go in there too. Told them as much when they wrote me a letter trying to get me to reup my HOG membership I had previously canceled. |

Keith's gang that couldn't shoot straight Interesting. I spoke to two folks at HD today. To say that these folks . . . with the veiled "no kidding, we'll leave" threat lingering are marshaling an "uninspired" performance is an understatement. As one of them explained . . they have two kids in school, a mortgage and are pretty well bound to MKE and has to go home every night to the "do you still have a job?" questions. . . it's working on folks' (according to both of them) emotions pretty bad knowing that the company would do do any employee exactly what they did to Buell. I would NOT want these guys doing my surgery or building my motorcycle at present. Watch what happens to quality when the line folks are told "we may just can you and go some place else". Idiots. Hey, did the shareholder vote out the "classified board" system back in April, so that the entire board will be up for election next go 'round? ~SM |

unless you are over 50 I dont see people on cruisers. That's the bottom line The majority of people 40 and younger grew up eyeballing Interceptors, not Sportsters. With Harley having shipped the manufacturing of everything they sell but the actual cruiser to China the "buy American" mantra has lost some of its punch. They're suffering from the same problem Oldsmobile suffered from, and will suffer the same fate if they aren't careful.} |
