Had some odd behavior this morning... My shut down procedure usually consist of hitting the kill, then turning the ignit switch to the off position. I futz around with my helmet/dismount/ear plugs/etc and then usually turn the bars to the far left and use the steering head lock feature. Today I hit the kill, turn the bars far left and rolled the ignit switch through the off position all the way to the lock position. First weird thing is that everything shut down including the fans. Second weird thing is that about 10 seconds later the fans turned on and the cluster was lit up with mileage/speed/odo status - almost as if the key was in the on position. Didn't check to see if the headlights were on or if the bike would fire up at all. Not sure how long it would have stayed like this, but after about 5 seconds I cycled the key to off and then back to lock and everything went back to normal (cluster off/Fans on). For reference, I do not use the PIN security feature. Anybody else seen this before? Would have been chapped had I walked away with the bike "on" for the day only to find a dead battery when I returned... |

Sounds like you put it into the park instead of the lock. (The setting just below the lock). |
