How much is normal for 4000 miles? I took these pictures looking down the intake while changing my air filter. Also, in the second picture, the valves are slightly open. I could see into the cylinder. It was very clean.

Try adding some seafoam injector cleaner to the fuel. Thats more goo than mine had on it at the 12k service. I assume you run premium pump gas through it? 93 octane here almost all the time, rarely does it get 91. |

Mine look exactly the same at 40,000 miles. |

Mine looked like that at 12K. I started paying attention to what gas stations I bought gas from. Started only buying gas from top tier stations, The bike runs better and here's what my valves looked like at 21K.

Those are just bits of Suzuki that made it past the air filter...no worries...it's just fuel deposits. |

Mine was like that too. I simply wasn't driving it hard enough. Started beating on it more and deposits all gone. |

I use top-tier gas, mainly Shell in all my vehicles. I haven't had any problems. I also throw some Lucas UCL or sometimes MMO in the gas on FI engines and I haven't replaced an injector or fuel pump ever since - its been about 5 years. Prior to that I replaced 3 pumps and a hand-full of injectors. In the 1125 I just started adding a 1oz shot of UCL with each fill-up but I won't sweat it if I'm "out" and don't add the shot every time. |

Mine (09 CR) are clean at 12,705 miles. I use Lucas Injector cleaner for three tank-fulls at every oil change...(this weekend !). I have on all of my cars and bikes for years. You can't tell my 03, Yamaha, R1 has 99,000+ miles on it by looking down the intake tract...clean.... Mike |

I live in the middle of Dallas/Fort Worth. My favorite riding takes me outside the city limits. I quite often fill up at small country gas stations, because I don't know when I'll pass the next one. I'll bet I've been getting poor quality gas. Pat |
