My new bike for getting around Hiroshima...

You might not be able to read it, but yes, it says "CHEVROLET" on the side. It'll go well with my Jeep trail bike back home!

...it has the trademarked bow-tie on it...even the wheels!

And to top it all off, it weighs maybe 15lbs and folds up to about 36"x24"x18".

Great for scootin' around here, and it's coming back to the States with me.

Do you wear full leathers and a helmet on that thing? ; ) I ask because a friend of mine with 3 Buells has a road rash scar from wrecking a Pocket Bike of all things) Neat little James Bondish bike. Your fellow Ford employees will get a kick out of that bowtie, too.

If you keep off your XB much longer, I may be able to catch up to your mileage (12,300 and counting): )

Oneway, you don't know the half of it. I personally know two people here that have broken limbs from bicyclke wrecks - and NEITHER incident involved a motorized vehicle!

You don't have too much farther to go, Chainsaw...I've only got 15K on mine. It's a little more impressive when you consider that I live only 7 miles from work. I can't wait to be back on my bike - either one! And I'm in negotiations with a Ford ISE here to buy his R6 from him for a song, too. I might just turn around and sell that one - depends on just how much fun it is compared to the XB and Blast.

LOL...I work for Delphi - screw Ford! They all know that I hate pretty much every Ford product ever made. I drive a Dodge at home. They'll get a kick out of it just because they all ride $5000 mountain bikes (what the hell is THAT about?) and I have a $230 folding Chevy!

Darthane,

That thing is totally awesome!!! I used to race mountain bikes and am looking forward to getting back into it since I am moving to the middle of thousands of great mountain bike trails and the price of gas is crazy here!!!

Anyhow, thinking of riding bicycle to work June through August (15 miles each way) up there near Lake Superior (Ashland and Bayfield) counties... it is a good workout, isn't it???

Charlotte
PS How much did that thing cost (in US dollars)?

Definitely - I'm going to ride in to Mazda today. Not 15 miles by a long shot, but still a good run (should take me a half hour or so).

It was about $230...on the expensive side for what it is, but the 'cool' factor is priceless! LOL

Sounds rather painful. Most I've ever done to myself on a bicycle was a TON of road rash when I was younger.

First ride report (I pedaled to Mazda today, about a half hour):

The steering is unbelievably twitchy. I think having the world's steepest rake angle may not be the best thing for handling!

The suspension is too sensitive.

The stock tires are sub-par. Manufactured by Checvy specifically for this bike, quite frankly they blow. I plan to replace them with aftermarkets ASAP to increase my lean angle from 10 degrees to 12 or 13 without losing confidence.

Six speeds is NOT enough! Tack another gear into that tranny...er...cassette! And I want an overdrive!

The seat is terribly uncomfortable for longer rides, and the bars as well. Is it too much to ask for adjustable ones?

And finally - it's HORRIBLY underpowered!
