had a similar problem with my x1 (random cutting out), turns out it was the bank sensor, i turned it off in the ecm with ecm spy(if you have not got ecmspy then get it) you can jump the bank sensor but not sure which wires to short. i would check the ignition relay as well, swap it with the start relay. Good luck |

And if you haven't already done so, the sidestand switch may need to be bypassed. Can cause the same type of issues. |

I was able to jump the bank angle sensor on an M2 by shorting terminals A&B. Do not short A&C or you will blow your ignition fuse. Good luck. |

ecm spy is freeware, you have to buy the lead that connects the bike to the laptop along with the driver for the lead, plenty of leads/drivers on ebay, some might come with the ecmspy freeware. plenty of info and a handy tuning guide at www.ecmspy.com the bank sensor (small black box with 3 wires connected)is located on the left side of the oil tank tucked up and bolted to the tail section. when the bike is dropped it kills the engine. |

i layed my bike down last fall but problem just started a week or two ago. started to mess up every once and awhile and now happens every time i ride but only when its warm outside. took it for a ride the other night and it was like 60 with no problems. took of today and it was like 75-80 and it did it within the first 3 miles. |

You could test it by temporarily bypassing the bank angle sensor also. |

You might have a bad head temp or intake air temp (IAT) sensor if it is strictly temp related. Make sure your IAT tip is clean. |

wouldn't a basd bank angle sensor just kill the motor? i have my headers wrapped any ideas if this would cause bike to over heat and cause this issue? it is a hot weather only problem |
