my 2007 buell xb12ss(8600 miles) coughs when starting out for the day...then occasionally "pops" when slowing down for stop signs. is this common? anything wrong? can i ride it with this going on? (started around 6-7K mile). |

Check the intake gaskets! Remove right side engine scoop ,start engine and spray brake cleaner on manifold if rpm drops or rises then you have a leak! |

It's the nature of these lumps. Either run stock exhaust or live with it. Some people say they can tune ALL popping out with ecmspy or one of the other fuel programs. But I seriously doubt it. |

Thanks! So, i won't cause any damage to the bike if I keep riding it as is?? Seems fairly common these posts. |

The decel popping is normal, and a cold motor will generally cough or sputter a bit. If the cough goes away after a few miles, I'll say you have nothing to worry about. |

You cann't remove ALL the popping but can reduce it significantly by removing some fuel in the cells within the range TP=10-15 (8 bit) and the RPM=1500-5000. Just remove a few points at a time and check results. |
