Just throw'in this out...In an earlier thread titled "What should I do?" ,well I traded the 9s
for a 12R..love it! but, you do lay alittle more
on the "tank", I wasn't too happy with the choices of buckle guards. I came up with a clean
solution by using protective film that auto makers use around wheelwells to help protect from rock chips...3M or TrimBrite make this clear film , once applied it is barely noticeable.A couple of tips, use soapy water to apply and use a rag to work the bubbles out and smooth out, also alittle heat from a hair dryer helps in making it easier to work with.

Considered the same solution for my future saddle bag purchase. Wouldn't want them rubbing the finish off the bike!

That film goes on real easy if you spray your plastic first with a foamy window cleaner (in Canada its called Bon Ami, but probably any foam type window cleaner should work). Then lay the plastic over the foam spray and use a small flexible rubber squeegee to push out the foam - always from the center out. No need to use heat.
I also used this film on the frame spars just below and forward of the seat (both sides) to keep my knees from abrading the paint. Works like a damn and is hardly visible, plus you can clean any grime off the plastic with a good waxing.
