Well ... I've been a Goldwing owner for ten years and recently bought a 2002 Blast to run errands around and ride to work ( little town of 4,000 and just two miles to work). The bike has only 3,000 miles on the odometer. The turn signals were falling off it when I bought it so I ordered and replaced all four. Today the left rear view mirror just fell off ... broke at the base of the stem ... as I was coming home. What'll fall off next ??? |

The Blast is pretty much a Harley, all that vibration is bound to loosen up some parts of the bike. |

Sounds like that bike may have been dropped a bit when it was new. But yes, all of that vibration will loosen up stuff that isn't loctite'd. Is that a word? Anyways, make sure that you check all of the bolted on parts occasionally and give them a good tighten back to spec. |

Welcome Cgent! First off: You have a 2000 year Blast. Check to make sure the rear pulley recall has been done. If it has not, then mirrors falling off will seem like a good day! Rear pulley (sprocket) should have 80 teeth. If it has 73 teeth, get the recall done, free, ASAP at the dealer. Its either 80 or 73 teeth, there werent any others made. Parts falling off is not as bad as they make it sound. My mirror fell off on the way home from the dealer. LOL! Left in stock form though and maintained (oil changes, etc.), you shouldnt have much of a problem. You'll not need to go over every bolt on a regular basis like an old Brit bike or Shovelhead. Its nowhere near that bad. But its definitely not a Goldwing. |

Do Not check the tightness of the two front motor mount bolts with a wrench. They are either OK, or broken, and you can tell that by looking at them. |

I removed the jamb nut and threaded it back in on mine. |
