well i with 860 miles on my xb12r, i rode it in the rain for the first time 2 day...about 40 miles in a moderate rain. handled like a dream, but now, its official, i have to wash it...LoL

drum drum drum DRUMMER. i have 2700 miles on the drummer, and it sounds GREAT. you will like it.

No, he means the rubber tube that lines the opening from the air scoop to the air box.

Take that out!

If you've got the airbox off, and you look down the air inlet through the left side of the frame, its pretty obvious what the snorkel is. I was uncertain like you until I actually took the airbox off and looked down the hole and sure enough there's this big rubber tube

Do a word search on snorkel in the KV - great pics even. Yes take it out as its very restrictive. Most definitely leave the horn INSIDE the filter in place.

the very first day i got my bike i was 300 miles from home with no liscence n hadnt rode a bike in over 10 years n of course it rained the WHOLE trip there in the car n the WHOLE trip back on the bike
now u know why i dont like riding in the rain

My first "real" rides on my XB were in the rain...in the winter. Granted it's winter in AZ, but it was still damn cold. 300=/- miles in no rain gear. I thought I was gonna die or at least loose a toe or finger to frostbite! That was when I picked up the Weather Magnet nickname. Thank God it's spring!

Last year me and a couple friends took a trip to Ignacio CO. from Prescott AZ. We left about 4:30 and were riding through Flagstaff (7K'?) in the rain. VERY cold but VERY fun.

Over here in Aust we're in a huge drought that has been going for years now. I get the call up to come get my Buell from the dealer the friday afternoon or I'll have to wait till Monday, get there listen to the prep talk till the dealer is closing and wholla!!! it pours rain for the next 2 days.
