I started to change my fork seals in my forks today (first time for me), and I found the white piece on the damper rod assembly is missing chunks off of it. I could not find the broken pieces inside, so I think the last owner broke it and put it back in anyway. So, I've been riding it for over a year without noticing. My question is, how bad is it to put back together and ride as-is? What is the piece for? It looks like it makes somewhat of a seal on the plastic piece in the collar an has slots to allow the oil to pass through.
It doesn't even have a separate part number I can find, so I'd probably have to buy the whole assembly, unless I could find some Badwebber with a junk old fork that would sell the plastic piece to me...
