Julie, That would be a hellava short cut (if you needed to get home faster) for you guys. The road along the river is very scenic and in pretty good shape. The turn off to the right (dirt road) is 10 miles. Their is a turn at 5 miles but is no good and a lot longer on the dirt. WE all rode this route on the buells last summer on our way to your barbecue. It is very smooth, almost looks like concrete for most of the 3 miles. their is a few spots where their is some gravel but you just go thru that slow. I rode it mostly in 3rd gear and for the loose stuff just went down to 2nd. Just took my time but you should have no problem. Then nice twisties to Sedelia and road 105. |

We've been on that road several times in the car and it is beautiful out that way. Dan and I do the road from Sedalia to the sprucewood inn for a short ride after work on nice days. It is definitely very twistie. I may have to try it one of these days. Dan said it would cut out about 60 miles. |

what a shame, I love Lake City, in particular the Alpine Moose Lodge with Bruno the grumpy french chef! The roads in and out of town are a real blast, but the highlight of all my trips through there has been staying at that hotel and eating some of Bruno's good cooking. It sucks I'm working this weekend, no way out of it, but I WILL be looking to come up there one weekend next month for my own little ride through Lake City. Frank, maybe you and Lynn can swing another weekend night up there? Y'all have fun, wish I was there... |

You guys have fun at Lake City. Dan and I are heading out to Woodland Park to take our maiden voyage with the toy hauler and do some dirt biking. Weather is suppose to be great. |

Julie, You and Dan have a fun time enjoying your anniversary this weekend together in the dirt. Just take it easy until you get the feel back of dirt biking. Hope to be joining you soon. Happy anniversary! (Message edited by jcbikes on May 21, 2010) |

Got out on the XB today. Appears the oil leak from the rear rocker box is fixed. Will continue to observe over the next few rides. Good day to be out. Broke out my mesh jacket. Was a bit cool, but ok none the less. |

Fingers are crossed for you Ryan. James called this morning and said to come in at noon. Fired up Loretta and dug out my mesh jacket too. Took The Beast out for a dirt-road-ride at sunset, very peaceful after a hectic afternoon. Y'all enjoy the weekend, stay cool. Z |

Dan and I are enjoying the new toy hauler/rv out here in Woodland Park. Did 47 miles on the dirt trails. I only went down one time. ATGATT really helps. Hope to put on another 50 miles on Sunday hope all you guys are having fun in Lake City. Glad you're enjoying the beast Zac |

John, well, I went down again today but this was a hard one. Slipped in a bunch of gravel going uphill and the back end went out on me and slammed me down on my right side. Have about a 5"x5" bruise on my hip area. It's a good thing I had my elbow pads on cause even with the pad my right forearm got slightly scratched up. I broke the side panel that covers the muffler. We did about 88 miles in 2 days. I was hoping for at 100 miles but after my crash I was a bit unnerved. We did go afterwards, tho, cause you just gotta get back on the horse. I was a bit more timid this afternoon after the crash, but I did it. Maybe next time you'll come out with us. I'm thinking in about 2 weeks. We're thinking of checking out a different area west of Woodland Park in the Lake George area. Let us know. The toy hauler did great on it's maiden voyage. |

Julie, Crashing is a part of dirt biking. sorry to hear you hurt your self but bruises heal quickly. Dont your riding pants have hip protectors in them? I wear total protection just like when riding on the street. I would love to join you guys in a few weeks if you have room. Would have to work out the details in getting down there. |

There are hip protectors in the pants but they are kinda flimsy. Maybe I'll have to look into picking up something a little bit more protective, if anything is made specifically for the hips. Dan was online last night looking for parts to replace the piece I broke. We're actually thinking of ordering a lot of different parts for "just in case" LOL We might be able to put all three dirt bikes in the toy hauler. Dan will need to do some measuring. We'll let you know. How long is your bike? (Message edited by jumpinjewels on May 24, 2010) |

Julie, I will let you know on the bike length. That would be great. Most of the time when you fall, the elbows hit and hips. I am always looking for spare parts. I carry a clutch lever with me when i ride. and tools to replace it. break that, and your screwed. |

Thanks John. I'll have Dan check it out. We put hand guards on both of our bikes. Mine has definitely seen it's use. I broke my clutch lever a couple of years ago so when we bought the replacement we actually bought an extra for just in case. |

Chris and I decided to ride to Ned about 3pm yesterday. Gorgeous ride, still cool up there, water on the road in 2 places only (big wet patch in Ward). We got rained on a little, saw one of the guys from Magpul with the Ronin 1125 and stopped several times to enjoy. We got home about 7:30pm. Z
Oh yeah.... I called SPOC on Monday. Talked with them about the snubber missing in the isolator kit. It would be good if anyone else that has access to SPOC does so also. Also talked to them about the status of the exhaust clamps for the 1125. Seems H-D has obsoleted p/n S0183.1AM which is the SS clamp at the muffler, with a Cad plated clamp like the Harleys use under the heatshields. Butt-ugly. I told SPOCK no owner will accept those clamps for their 1125, new p/n is S0127.8A. SuperTrapp has good clamps and H-D sold off their stock of the OEM ones to Vintage Parts. They are available, just be aware that if you order the OEM clamps, you won't like what you get. |

Got a call from SPOC yesterday at work. The isolator kits will contain the snubber from now on. If the snubber is missing, H-D will RMA it. They thanked me for my input and said it's all fixed. I am impressed |

Yup, it's closed. Funny, their website shows it open, but calling the road line it states it's closed. Figures. |
