Another stupid question, sorry. Don't have a rear wheel stand, plan to use front wheel parking stand + a wedge under the rear wheel. What's the correct height so that the oil doesn't spill out of the filling opening? |

I know from previous posts some people out there are very picky (down to the ounces) about primary/tranny fluid quantity. But my Brothers 1200 Sporty and My M2 Buells we just drain it and add 1 quart. I just leave it on the side stand to drain it and add the oil to the cover above the shifter shaft. We have never had shifting or other related tranny problems so far. We also use regular oil (15w-40) that is the same as we use in the engine. But hey it is your machine and your call so wait a bit and see what others think. Then you can decide. Heck any oil is better than no oil. Just my $.02 worth. |

You don't need to lift the wheel off the ground, your front parking stand is fine. I usually just lean it up against a wall. The problem comes in with doing it on a sidestand, the oil would just spill out from being tilted. |
