So what you're telling me to do is continue to pay for a bike that is in the shop AND has exactly zero chance of getting fixed AND will never run again. This is the disconnect that you are failing to put together- You are paying off a loan. A loan you agreed to keep paying on in return for cash up front for a bike. You stop paying, the bank takes the bike and any money you gave them. The bank isn't the bad guy here. You are. You are breaking an agreement and they will roach you for it. You may think that the short dollar is the easy way out, but it will kill you for years to come with even more money out of pocket...everything besides paying cash will cost you. Your short sighted views of "never will get fixed" and "never run again" is waiting 3-6 weeks? Just because the part isn't here today doesn't mean it won't be here tomorrow. It's not like HD is telling you 'forget it, it's a loss, go pack sand". They took your order and are trying to get you a wheel. Just because they don't have one doesn't mean they won't get one. You are FAR, FAR, FAR better off buying a wheel off ebay, selling the bike, and walking away losing money than taking the hit from the bank. What do I know? Banks wait in line to lend me money. Why? 'cause I have fantastic credit and keep my contractual promises to pay off money I borrow. |

Somewhere on here the good and gracious Court brought up a nice little piece of advice. If your bike in under warranty and it's been in the shop for over a month, nothing says you can't ask nicely to have the warranty extended by that amount of time. To me, that would be fair and just compensation for the time you missed. It sucks when your bike is in the shop during prime riding season, I know. But sooner or later it will come out of the abyss and you can ride away from that dealer and never look back. You have plenty of better riding days in your future than you have in your past. Unless you're a certified old dude...you'll never get those days back.

What is inaccurate about the statement? -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ The entire line that I had quoted. It has a 100% chance of getting fixed. Yeah, no thanks to the moco. I swear, when I called them they didn't know where to get the parts. THEY HAD NO IDEA!!!!! In fact it wouldn't be hard to say the moco didn't have a clue as to WHEN it would be fixed, let alone WHERE to get the parts. So much for the moco being all knowing and all powerful. Gives them a little chink in their omnipotence. Maybe you'd like to share with me a source of 2010 rear wheels? -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Your dealer is one of many places. Yeah, right! One thing I do know from my conversation with the moco, there weren't ANY dealers in the US who stock the rear wheel. So, that's pretty much a bust. Maybe there's dealer in Croatia.......Maybe if I wanted some nice chrome wheels for a 2009 'glide I could get them in a month or two, but Buell wheels? Not a chance! I informed the dealer that I had done something that they and the moco had failed to do. CHECK WITH ERIK BUELL!!!!!! DUH! I'll notify the dealer when it gets here and when they can put it on. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ No dealer will call Erik Buell Racing to get parts under warranty, as they will not be covered for reimbursement. Erik Buell Racing is not a supplier of parts for HD. Yeah, no duh! If it wasn't for me doing the leg work and FINDING THE PROPER REAR WHEEL the bike might be sitting in the shop until 2017 (or till the apocalypse, which ever comes first). Thanks, but no thanks. I do know I'll never be reimbursed for the wheel, but I really don't care. I'll have my bike back and can continue to make payments on it. Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does, I'll know not to take it to a dealer (as he won't be able to find parts for it), but find an aftermarket solution. Swap the wheel, and ask the dealer to swap out the bad wheel when he finally gets one in...you can keep the new wheel as a spare. |

You all ready paid for the bike by borrowing the money. You are simply paying for a loan, which the bank holds a lien on the motorcycle as collateral. Just because you borrowed the money from HD financial doesn't make your statement any less silly. Suppose you used your credit union instead. Careful, your immaturity is showing. Next time pay cash, for next time there may not be any money to borrow.} If I borrowed the money from the moco (I didn't, BTW) it would have screwed the people who screwed us. I would have no problems with screwing them as they are screwing WITH us. With TMN in office, I can see credit getting progressively worse. For one, the price of things is going to go up when he starts printing more money to cover the U.S. debt. The days of paying $30,000 for a hardley junkster and filling it up with $10.00 a gallon gas are just around the corner with this guy. Don't believe me? Read the "cap and trade" bill. |
