Brilliant... Anyone know if that stick will fit in an '04 hole? Who needs marks? If it's not on the dipstick... add oil. That said... I like the coarse sand paper method myself. |

Electraglider - There is a lot of nit picking on this board (I've done my share). Even though I don't plan on doing it, I think your modification very clever. Keep the ideas flowing. |

I went to my local Ace Hardware store (I love hardware stores) and they had an assortment of different diameter, foot long, thin walled tubes for less than a buck. They had brass and aluminum tubes. I got an aluminum tube that just barely slides over the temp probe. Cut it the length of the original "Add area" and then crimped into place. Looks real good and the oil shows up nicely against the aluminum. Also found out what Buell wants for a replacement dipstick. 5 bucks. Now that's cheap. I'm going to order one and redo this whole exercise with a larger faced temp probe that has a longer probe stick which they sell at Ace for under 12 bucks. I'll post a picture when this is accomplished. It will look much better then my first effort. I don't know how long it will take to get the new dipstick from Buell since they have to order it for me. |

He does/did. Works great, except despite how much RTV sealant I use it still leaks! I'm gonna upgrade to the Dark Horse version next time I order from American Sport Bike |
