I am changing out the frame, and i need to remove the front end (forks, triple trees, anything that connects to the frame). What is the best way to remove the front end? I know i need to pull the handlebars so i can get to the bolt that hooks the triple trees together. (Message edited by dktechguy112 on June 25, 2010) |

Should just be able to: - Support the engine/frame - remove the nut that holds the trees to the frame - undo the pinch bolts that hold the upper tree to the forks themselves - remove the bars and cables/lines - remove the upper tree - slide the lower tree, with the forks attached, out the bottom of the frame. If they're stuck, a *tap* with a rubber mallet should pop it loose from the neck bearings. (Message edited by ratbuell on June 26, 2010) |
