As the weather just turned for hot (100+), my xb12r started to start funny. Instead of running up to the cold idle of 1400 rpm or so, she started out about 800 and kicked back and forth from there to about 1200. it almost sounds like she is on one cylinder. I just got the new download today so i haven' seen if this has solved the problem. 6100 is the mileage and my next step is new plugs. anyone had anything similar? |

Have you done a TPS reset since the new download? |

Gonna do that on monday. I was under the impression that a tps would only affect actual handling at slow speeds and just above idle. But regradless today with normal driving she did the same thing. the only things that the DT II download did, that I can see is change the operation of the engine fan. I'll try reseting the Tps on monday when I change the plugs out. I see that a lot on this forum. is it a common thing? |

If your TPS if off, it will be off at all throttle positions. It is good practice to do a TPS reset before tuning and after changing pretty much any part that has to do with intake or exhaust. One thing about doing a TPS reset on the DDF3 bikes is you can't make it run any worse. On the DDF1 and 2 bikes it can wreak havoc if not done properly. |

Cool. well i'll try it. i hooked up to the digital tech yesterday and didnt see any codes. my first inital thought was that it was an IAC problem. My buddies fat boy had similar issues and it was that. I saw the option to do the tps reset there as well. just didnt think to do it. i dont have any problems at any position though. it is only in idle, and its an intermittent thing. just does it when she wants to. |
