My 09 came with the standard low push you into the tank seat. I replaced it with the tall seat, and it is much better! |

The tall seat Jim talks about is the stock seat off the 06. Starting in 07 the seat was lower. I put an 06 stock seat on my 07. My thoughts were that I would switch back to 07 seat when I road 2 up. The 07 seat has not been back on the bike since I tried the 06 seat |

You can still buy a new tall seat that doesn't have the cloth material on the riders area, that retains water, and it also doesn't have the seams that make themselves known on a long day in the saddle. I put a new tall seat on my 06 and like it much better than the original. |

Asking what seat is the best is like asking what underwear will fit you best. Simply put, we don't have the answer, only you do. Try out some seats. |

I have been happy with the stock 10 seat, but maybe I need to try and find an 06 seat and give it a try. |

One thing I noticed between my 2006 and 2009 Ulysses, since the weather has been getting hotter. My stock seat on my 2009 gets warm. Now I know what you guys have been complaining about. My 2006 had a tall seat and I never noticed the heat ‘cause the seat is taller. I have the comfort kit on my 2009 and use the stock seat for commuting and the tall seat for trips. This week I’m going back to my tall seat to see how hot it gets. |

I bought an 06 seat - it feels like it was padded with a rail road tie. |

If you really want a comfortable seat, and you have the coin, I'd suggest you check out Rick Mayer Cycle or Russell Day-Long. I had a Rick Mayer on my last bike and it was fantastic. http://www.rickmayercycle.com/index.html http://www.day-long.com/ |

I just installed a Corbin. I had no complaints on my '09 but this is definitely more comfortable. It is far more comfortable for my wife in the pillion position. MTB-) |

Try XPC custom seats. http://www.xpcracing.com/ I have one on my bike and it is FANTASTIC. It is a suede type of material that is very cool in summer and keeps warm in the winter. I don't slide around nearly as much as the stock seat, but I am still able to get over without hesitation when dropping a knee deep into a turn. We also had the rear of the seat re-moulded so that when my GF rides on back, there is much less of a forward lean to the seat so that she doesn't slide forward while braking. (I really don't like it when I have to fight against her weight and the bike itself when braking and this has completely solved that issue for both of us.) The guys there made this completely custom and it has been fantastic. Their cost is far less than most all other custom seats out there. In fact, if you go their website and click on "gallery" you can see my seat on page 2. We've had it over a year and have run over 5k with this seat and it still looks great and is very comfortable. |

I just ordered the tall seat on ebay for $110.00 free shipping, and was wondering how many of you guys are 5'11" 32" inseam or less that are happy with the tall seat? tanks |

I love the tall seat. I am 6' with 33" inseam. It is much more comfortable then the low seat. I have been thinking of getting gel in the low seat though. |

For me the tall is too fluffy. The stock 07 and up has a hump that tilts my back. The low seat is just right! 5'10" 33" inseam. |

Buellridersww, That is a faux-suede material on the xpc racing seat. It handles pretty much anything well. If you were to get it wet or muddy, I would suggest using a wire brush to get the original luster back. Mine has a ton of miles and has been wet and a bit dirty. I use a basic wire brush to get it looking pretty once in a great while. I wouldn't wash the bike and soak the seat with soap and water too often as I don't want to push my luck. I wash it with the seat on, but I try to be a bit careful what I get wet. Washing a bike is pretty easy. Keeping the seat somewhat dry is simple. (Just don't go all crazy with the hose!) How do people think about the Corbin Gunfighter? Looks nice and comfy. I have the stock '06 tall. Tried the '07 low and hated it. |

Those Baldwin seats are nice, and are made by a Buell rider. Expensive, but well worth the price of admission. |

what's the difference between a stock xt seat and a tall seat. About an inch and a half. The high seat is close to flat from the passenger seat all the way to the airbox cover, not dished out like the others. Can we get some photo's of the custom seats installed??? Like the Russell, Rick Mayer, XPC, and Baldwin. A touring seat may go on my list for next spring. |

Frank gave me a Baldwin with the Uly(09), never had a gel seat before. I like it a lot better than the stock seat. If you click Hotrodjohn's link, there's a pic of the bike before I got it. If I make it to Homecoming, I'll be sitting on it the whole way. Zack |

I have a 30" inseem (jean length anyway) The stock 07 low kind of pisses me off sometimes (haha) The 06 High was way to high for me. If I scoot back on my seat just a little it's comfy but I have to reach to far. I'm installing the 1" risers from American Sport Bike. Maybe that will solve some issues. Sometimes I think that my 04 Lightning was more comfortable and it had the low seat on it! |

John, the Uly on Baldwin's site is mine now, I have THAT seat. Very comfy, I hope Loren is at Homecoming, I would like to talk to him. Zack |

Jonsocal, Thanks for the feedback about the materials. Yea I am kinda concern about getting suede wet even if riding in the rain too. Thanks again. |

The Corbin gets a thumbs-up. It's slightly shorter than the stock seat, particularly towards the back of the sitting area. From time to time the stock seat felt like it was pushing me forward but the Corbin has a nice sitting area. The seat is slightly fatter where it meets the airbox cover so you lose a little leg-length when standing. Not noticeable when riding. MTB-) |
