was cruisin at about 65 and was looking at all the cows, horses to my right on FM1044. as soon as i looked forward i saw a grey blur in front of me. stupid dove flew right in to my faceshield. scared the hell out of me but made me laugh because when i looked back feathers were floating downward and the bird was trying to pull out of an uncontrollable barrel roll.

A week and a half ago, I had some bird fly out and hit me right in the forehead of my helmet. I barely felt it, but I bet the bird ended badly. That was actually my first time hitting a bird in more than 15 years of riding.

Fortunately they have a lot less mass than, oh, say a dog, or a deer!

Riding outside of Tucson late at night where there are no streetlights so it is pitch black, I saw something above me. When I looked up there was an owl face right in my visor. The bastard had to have heard me from a mile off and buzzed me just to make a point.

I had to clean the pee off the bike in the morning.

I've had a couple of bird hits.

One shit all over my jacket.

One got caught by the pod. Days later the head fell out of the pod.

I had a buddy put one through his wheel. I was right behind him, and picking the feathers out of my bike for weeks.

Nearly hit a buzzard head on. Got him with my foot instead... hurts like hell. Those are huge birds.

I never hit one but have come damn close. I was cruising around a lake at a good speed. A big crane like bird was doing a low fly by. I had to do matrix type shit to get out of the way. Scared the hell out of me...

Took a bird to the chest once and it felt like I got punched... not sure how the bird ended up but at least it didn't shit on me!

not as scary as the time I came around a tight curve in the hills and found a dee staring at me on the inside... I managed to move over just enough that my elbow bonked her nose, that one left some snot on me.

Tbolt,

Nothing like a little deer snot to keep the elbow lubed! That's a good one, oh and kind of scary too!

I've had many close calls with birds, for some reason they keep wanting to dart right in front of the bike.

Here in Montana, deer are all over the road. I had two run out in front of me single file last week. There would have been a collision if the third deer would have decided to take the same line. That one was scary as I was going slightly over the speed limit! Ok, a lot over!

I'm usually "overdressed" in Bohn body armor, but it worked great when I took out a finch sized bird at 70. It felt like a very muffled punch, it moved my chest and shoulder but no pain. Not so when I got it in the throat from a giant flying cockroach near Tucson. What were those things called, Ratsmc?

I was back road bombing a few yrs back & in a split second saw a bird in front of me, I tried to tuck into the wind screen but it hit right in the top of the helmet like straight on ... no issue for me except shock, but it was a FAIL for the bird.

Worst bugger I had was a friggin wasp, got into my shirt on my back, by the time I got the bike pulled over, got my jacket off & literally ripped my shirt off it had stung a half dozen times. Lil prick, I never did see it but I had the welts. I must've looked crazy on the side of the rode with my helmet on, dancing around ripping my clothes off next to my bike, yelling at an unseen enemy. lol

Dman thats a good story...i was riding with a few friends, wife on the bike... we were getting off the e-way in novi when just then four geese were taking off and couldnt get up quite fast enough, almost got hit in the head by not only one, but four different birds at once! it was crazy, but funny it looked like the stupid duck from the aflac ad on tv with his big eyes poping out when it seen the cr screaming towards it!! we all got a good laugh out of that one. Smoked a big ass turkey, luckly not on the bike, but in my yukon it f*ed up the grill and headlights, couldnt imagine what it would have done to the cr

Lots of wild turkeys in these parts - They scare me as they graze nonchalantly at the roads edge unmoved my any traffic commotion zipping by a few feet away from them. I would not want any part of them in any vehicle!

I hit a bird with my forehead at 70 plus mph. I was riding over a bridge and it swooped out from under the bridge right out into me. I wasnt wearing a lid, and I just had time to duck into it. There was a father and son fishing off the bridge. I could see the guy with his hands on his knees in my mirror, doubled over in laughter I presume, as the stream of obscenities escaped me.

I hit a bird at 105 on my old electraglide. Hit me right in the chest and straightened me right out across the seat. Glad it didn't have any luggage or would be singing soprano. Took a long time to inch back up to get back to sitting. Couldn't slow down either since I was at arms length. Funny to watch I bet though. LJM

I was cruising my sport open fisherman into Port Everglades, on the way to Tug Boat Annie's, heading into port, into the setting sun with Guns and Roses jamming and feeling good, when a grey blur shot up from the right side of the boat, an inch in front of my brothers face, hit me square in the mouth, then went over the other side of the boat. My brother asked me what it was, I told him it was a fish. The only reason I knew what it was, was becouse the taste, MMmmm sushi. A case of whip lash lasted about 3 days,

My friend was riding out on Belle Isle in Detroit and a Canadian Goose flew right into the side of him and knocked him clean off the bike. Only wreck he ever had.

I was on the 60, going west toward CA border, going about 130 MPH. I saw a bird swoop down right in front of me. I was quite startle, expecting it to explode on my fairing. Instead, I clipped it with my foot. It was a good sized bird too. Could have potentially done some damage at that speed.
