you can add a map sensor to the 2004 to 2007. It just take a little effort. |

OK another question, i still cant not figure out my issues. when nuetral and I hold the RPMs at 3k the rpms flucuate between 2k and 3k. What can cause this. his is probably why I feel the surging. |

offset fuel map. the afr of one cyl is lean and the afr of the other rich or lean. The ego in closed loop is correcting instant bringing the rear to a good value by global adjustment. sad thing it global the entire map front included. this makes a flutter in power as way to much fuel in one stroke (low power) correct on the other. good power. now place that beside an adjacent cell thats opposite front and rear and you get the mess of bucking. the ecm is now doing the opposite with a slight delay. during that delay is where the stall happens. Then the correction is onset and it has power again. Hence the bucking feeling. smooth the maps either lean matched or rich matched(bucking) goes away.. its just offset maps in the cylinders (Message edited by xoptimizedrsx on May 27, 2010) |

Ok, I have a cable and I need to download ECMspy. I go to, http://www.ecmspy.com/download.shtml, and then I have questions. ECMspy is no longer available. Do I need ECMspy or can I get all the functions I need from the other programs on the sight? If so which ones? My bike is an 07 Scg. I would like to be able to reset my TPS, If possible check for error codes, and data log. My bike has fairly ugly hiccups that I need to sort out. |

"Any advise is welcome." Read its Tuning Guide, http://www.ecmspy.com/tgv2/guide2.shtml Keep notes (write notes to make sense six-months later). |

I got a little spare time today to study the tuning guides...the version 1 guide helps a lot with the "what button to click" stuff and a basic understanding. The version 2 is more advanced and assumes you have understanding of the basic functions....the key is learning WHY you do something.... Also...my ECM spy is version 1.12.26 is that the newest?? also my version has no "function" key...you have to go to diagnostics the set the TPS...the tutorial shows using the function key...i'm confused. (hey thats easy) |

Went for a nice long 240 mile ride today...when I got back, I checked the AFV, it had "adjusted" itself to 105%...the bike ran great as long as I stayed above about 2800 rpm...light load in town cruising below 2800 to 3000...bad surging... I saved and copied the maps...printed copies of the fuel maps...they are way different front to rear...if I am interpreting them correctly...the 3D views are way different too... |

In keep both front & rear fuel maps identical. Striving to simplify my seat-of-the pants, OEM oxygen sensor, home-grown attempts at tuning. I'll trade 6000-7000 rpm worth of romping kick-ass for 2000-3000 rpm of dependably smooth running... |

I wouldn't have a problem with it if it was a track bike, or if none of the roads had a speed limit...riding at 30-40 mph in town is a PITA!...as far as how it pulls at WOT...I never cease to be amazed at how much power it has, considering the engine design... I'm not "complaining" ....I understand how the stock mapping may be needed to pass emissions...but that don't mean I have to like it....or keep it that way.... |
