I was just riding my xb12s for a few minutes when suddenly around 15 mph I suddenly just couldnt shift. I rolled into my garage and turned it off, but now the clutch won't even engage. Like the bike doesnt roll when you pull in the clutch. I can still get it into neutral without the clutch. The clutch tightness seems fine, could it have something to do with something under the primary cover?

Thanks for any input!

Josh

so i was looking inside the primary and it looks like the actual primary casing on the inside is cracked along the bottom of the circle on both sides. Im guessing this is the problem, anybody know where i could go from here? Anything i could get off the classifieds or am i gonna have to go to a dealer?

Thanks

josh

I would pull the cover first because it sure sounds like you had something come loose in there.

I have an 04 12r, just under 30K miles.. I am on my third primary cover, and today it failed. The casting has broken, same place each time, allowing the clutch pack to push out, no disengagement, happens rather quickly. The first time it was still under warranty.. last time I paid... here we go again.. So what have you found out about yours?

Actually it was those little edges of the inside of the cover breaking loose. Maybe mine was luck but I had a guy weld it back good as new. Definitely worth the try if your gonna replace it anyways. New cover was a bit out of my price range
