Chameleon, as far as i can tell, yes the mirrors are supposed to fold like that, they appear to have some cam mechanism, it locks at full open, but gives to fold in nicely. I also use them slightly folded when i'm tucked hauling on the highway so i can watch my 6. One of my favorite unexpected features of the bike. The plate is mounted in the stock location, and i've removed the majority of the DOT induced reflectors. I'm red enough lol. Interesting idea jetcoating the stock exhaust red. I'll have to look into the costs and decide whether or not i'm going aftermarket after Al's shoot out. As always, thanks for the input guys. |

Showed the pictures of your bike to a friend of mine who rides Hondas and he said that if he would ride an 1125r yours would be the one he wants. Like I said before sweet ride. |

DO NOT POWDER COAT YOUR PIPE RED. That would look nasty. IMHO Your bike does look very nice. Well done |

Lets see. 1buell, thanks for the compliment. Dbolemiss, no paint code, from what i could figure, the rest of the parts are molded plastic, not painted, so there's no paint code? not sure if that's correct but all i could surmise. My painter matched it, i'm not sure if he ended up using a gun or just by eye. Xb9r,thanks for the compliment. Not sure if i could ever get the powder coat to match, and if not, your right. I imagine it would be gross. Not sure how long the color would stay true either. 2008Xb, thanks for the link. The logo i was referring to was the shield logo. Someone with a black R had a shield logo scaled up perfectly and placed on the side of the bike. It looked really sick, and very factory. I'd love to get it in black for my bike, but good luck finding the pic here or someone to scale it up and print it for me for a price i can afford lol. |

Those look great. I have a red 09 and I've been contemplating those side fairings. I kind of like my ugly bulbous motorcycle the way it is, though. Tough choice |

The plate is mounted in the stock location I looked at some pictures of my own bike at similar angles and found that I was wrong; your plate is mounted fine. My bad. as far as i can tell, yes the mirrors are supposed to fold like that, they appear to have some cam mechanism, it locks at full open, but gives to fold in nicely. Can anyone else confirm this or point me to a thread indicating this is by design? |

XB9r: Froggy did a photo shop for me awhile back (search and I'm sure you'll find the photos) and it actually looked SWEET. Admittedly, it was on a stock 1125R (meaning, no side panels, just the original scoops) but it looked pretty cool and several were in agreement. Of course I realize that doesn't mean YOU'D agree too (we're all individuals) but I thought it looked pretty cool. I'm likely going to have it done for both cosmetic AND practical reasons (the jet hot coat will be a far better rust protection than the stock paint). The one issue I've had with Buells in the ten years I've owned them is the lousy, corroding metal they use on their mufflers. Hopefully when Erik is back on his feet his bikes will have stainless steel or non-ferrous mufflers!! |

Crap... I'm not finding it either. Froggy? Are you there? Looking for that photoshop of a red 1125R with a satin red muffler. I think you're the one who did it, but I'm not coming up with anything in the search... |

I know someone did. Not as big as this one, but thanks, Froggy. Wish I saved the original. It was based on the original 2009 photos from the Buell website, that's all I remember. Can't remember who did them. |

Looks OK but, now looks like to many of the other so called crotch rockets. We Buell owners wanted to be different or would have bought the norm. I4 type. IMO with the pods its part of knowing you are riding something that is and looks different. |

IMO the pods remind me of what kind of Dummy's manage HD...... the partial fairings may not be the best, but they are way better than not having them IMO... |

Interesting, thanks for the photo chop froggy. I wish i had the time to learn that program, what a time saver lol. Dc29, I wouldn't presume to represent or be a spokesman for such a large and diverse group of people the bulk i've never met and certainly never requested me to do so. I'll just respond from my own personal perspective. I bought a Buell because it had the power, ergonomics, and domestic lineage I could afford. I didn't buy it to be different. In my experience, the more one attempts to be different the less they actually are. To me it's an either you are or you aren't thing. It's more than about looks. I strive to ride my own ride, and not judge others riding theirs. In addition, I would wager that these lowers were in-fact as buell intended as they were produced by Buell. Also, I suspect as noted above, that the pods were harley's effort to not sell a "crotch rocket". An example of the challenges of being different solely for the sake of claiming to be/look different. Especially since all the later projects appear to have lowers (Barracuda, 1125RR, 1190...). My .02 and thanks for the input.
