Yea they added weight, Buell compensated by not running full fuel loads. They followed all the rules, The killer for the Japcrap 600's was tire wear. The Buells did'nt kill there tires like the 600's did. Some of the Buells fastest laps came late in the races. And thats the way it was on this day.......... |

Just do the math. I have had just about every bike known and I like the buell best, thats just the way it is. My Dinosaur 98 S1W with out the turbo beats up on 600's in the corners and on the straights as long as theres a corner coming before 3rd gear, hahahaha! I was passed once by a GSXR 750 but took it back in two turns later. At this point I must say hi to my friend Tony, hahahaha! |

Okey dokey 98s. Looks like you have it all figured out. However, the Buells were harder on the tires than the 600s and that was the great equalizer to the Buell's torque advantage. |

Correction, factuality check required. a 23.81% difference isn't "slight". |

A stock 1125r will eat a stock 600cc bike for lunch. An almost stock 1125r (ie DSB) will be on par with a factory race-built 600cc machine. Nothng to be ashamed of... |

I have my suspension set dead on for my weight and the time I rode my friends R6 back to back with my 25r I was kinda disapointed with my bike. being set up for your weight doesnt mean its set up right... >>> " it's only slightly more powerful than the R6" ~130 RWHP vs ~105 RWHP for stock Buell 1125R vs stock GSXR600, respectively. "slightly more powerful"? Oops! I forgot the loyalty check required for every post here. "The Buell 1125R rules above all else, and there is nothing comparable on two wheels." Mea maxima culpa. what i find extremely funny here is that blake seemed to be saying the 1125 is more then "slightly more powerful" then the 600. but yet you jump on him and say its only because he's so loyal to buell... lmao how does that work?! |

when i see threads like this, it just highlights to me how people can follow so blindly towards any direction (both the 'buells are the best' side and the the 'all buells suck' side). if they'd only broaden their horizons and experience other perspectives every now and then, they'd see theres a huge world of motorcycling out there to experience. what i mean is, the 1125 is a great bike, we all know that (well except that lady that thinks buells will headshake every time you brake) but its really nice to get out and there and try out other bikes. there are bikes out there that will be stronger than our bikes in different areas. it will also help you appreciate your own ride even more and might actually help you to identify your bike's weaknesses and work around them. in other forums, i see just the opposite of the blind buell loyalty that can pop up here when people lambast buells even though they've never even ridden one. it goes the same way, before you can be 100% sure that the 1125 is better than any other bike, give the other bike a chance. listen to the people that actually own the bike, take the bike for a test ride if you can. then after that, you can talk shit! trust me its fun! yes, i have ridden an r6 before and in just the past couple of months, i rode a monster 696, a triumph street triple, a drz 400, a 919, a new thunderbird, and a ducati streetfighter s. i can feel the weight differences between the bikes instead of reading spec sheets that the manufacturers put out. this helps me understand what my bike can and cant do. and for the most part, i walk away from those rides appreciating my bike even more. |

Please understand that I am in no way Bashing the Japcrap, in fact I own one. However you stack it, the answer will be the same, the Buell 1125R bike for bike is better than the the same bike in the 600 class. Now hear me me out before you get all twisted...... The 600 shoot out was won by the 09 ZX6R right? That bike was then compared to the Buell 1125R, the buell handed it its ass. Now were here in 2010, Kawasaki has made some changes as they do every year, comparing a NEW bike to a 08/09/10 model which has for the most part remained the same. Is this fair, NO! It is what it is. Now lets move ahead a year or 2, is it going to be fair for the 1190 to be in that series, NO! But if the rules allow it I'm sure the Japcrap bikes will be stepped up a bit by then. Lets keep it apples to apples. |

Haha. I can see the educational system has failed in Bakersfield. Try proof reading your post next time...and then translate it to something other people can understand. |

So anybody astute enough to compare Danny Eslick lap times so far this year on the Suzuki compared to the Buell? |

one thing about those magazine reviews...i read that ones were they compared the ducati streetfighter to the 1125 CR and the CR won. I test rode a streetfighter (s model though) recently and i was fully expecting to hate it. and god damn it if it wasnt frickin amazing! damn magazine reviewers! |

My 2 cents: Really only worth 2 pennies! I came from an X1 on the road. Crashed it into guardrail. Went to a Ninja ZX9 for track only, was great and stable in corners, beast to slow down! The i got my Baby, 08 1125r for track mainly. I my opinion it handles like a 600 with the grunt of at least a 750 if not pretty close to my 900 ninja. I weigh 260lbs on a light day so the bike is under more stress but I really love it one the track, it almost immediately improved my lap times. Remember....only two pennies worth. |

I rode my friends 07 R6 and I thought my 100 meter dash would be faster than the bikes. I would have to ride the bikes back to back to be able to comment on handling. When I rode the R6 I only had my XB at the time. When I got back on my XB and went to pull out I thought it was going to buck me off....then again when I go from the 1125R to the XB I think the same thing. Did I mention I love the grunt of the Vtwin? |

Thanks for the tip of checking my settings (which the dealership said they had set to my weight when I bought the bike new from them) Here is what I found the bike settings were and I have compared them to the owners manual specs below: FRONT FORKS PRELOAD: TURNS IN FROM MINIMUM* Actually found: Left- 7 15/16 Right- 7 5/8 Factory spec: 5 COMPRESSION: TURNS OUT FROM MAXIMUM** Actually found: Left- 1.5 Right 1.75 Factory spec: 2.25 REBOUND: TURNS OUT FROM MAXIMUM** Actually found: Left- 1.5 Right- 1 5/8 Factory spec: 2 REAR SHOCK PRELOAD: NOTCH (#1 IS LIGHTEST SETTING) Actually found: 3 Factory spec: 2 COMPRESSION: CLICKS OUT FROM MAXIMUM** Actually found: 18 Factory spec: 20 REBOUND: TURNS OUT FROM MAXIMUM** Actually found: 1 Factory spec: step 3 Some settings were for a rider 100 lbs heavier than me! LOL Took her for a sedate ride tonight and lost the desire for the R6! Again, my appreciation for sharing what you know. Cheers |

xodot Im wondering did the bike handle better after the instructors gave you pointers? Maybe after the classes when you get back on the 1125r you might like it better, especially with the suspension fixed properly |

when i bought my CR, my dealership screwed up my suspension settings too. I took it to a suspension tuner to set the sag and the preloads were set backwards from where they should be. to set the proper sag, my front preload was backed off all the way and my rear was 2 clicks away from full. and when i picked it up from the dealership, after they set the suspension for my weight, it was the exact opposite. |

2008xbscg - I did not ride the 1125R after the class until after I changed the suspension to the owners manual specs. The change is incredible of course and immediately noticeable within a block of my house last night. I could NOT have ridden my Buell on that course following the same lines as instructed. The Buell would not have responded as the properly set R6 did for me. That is what prompted me to ask (on this thread)how the Buell should compare to the R6. I rode the Dragon and Cherahola for 4 days last month with those "Frankenbike" suspension settings. Now I need to get back there and have fun with the bike instead of fighting with her at every corner. Chessm - While I am sorry you experienced the same thing at the hands of your dealership, there is some sick comfort knowing I am not alone.... |

When I bought my bike the dealership had it set up like a streetglide. It was mushy and wallowed all over the place making tight turns a real challenge. A couple days later I set it up per the manual and it was like the bike lost half it's weight. Razor sharp! |
