Hopefully they have a few shows this summer at Ray Price or New river I want to enter Beckys bike in a show or two. Here is a pic of it right after I got it all put back together, man are these things intimidating at first but simple when you jump into it.

Jimmy, are those headers coated? |

I sent them to Jet Hot and had them coated in the 1300 sterling, talk about heat reduction. It dropped right side temps on the leg by about 100 degrees. The wife hates riding my SS now after riding her bike with the coating. Jimmy |

I got 2nd place out of 3 bikes. I was bound to win something. Just thought it was funny that the other 2 bikes were bone stock and looked brand new. Mine has a lot of cool parts on it. No biggie though. It was a fun day. |

Hey everybody, we are gonna be closing on the 30th and moving down some of the bikes shortly there after. I am planning a BBq sometime in June and you all are invited. More details to follow, probably in the middle of June or so. Beer and food will be provided and a place to sleep if needed. Only requirement is every body has a good time. Jimmy |

probably in the middle of June or so Keep in mind that Homecoming is June 16th-20th. For some reason a fair number of the C3 contingent will be making this years Homecoming. As usual, I will be one of them and, also as usual, I will be heading out the weekend before (June 12th). Not everyone's cup of tea, but the Smoke Out is June 25th-26th. Not that my attendance is mandatory, but I hate to miss an event that the only requirement is that every body has a good time...but I will try my damnedest to make it fit into what I've got going on. 1313

1313..After going to the Smokeout since 2001 I have met a great bunch of friends. The last few years seeing these friends was the only reason for the trip.So this year we are getting together at Riders Roost when the SO is going on.It is still the best gathering of homeade bikes on the planet, but it is getting old now. If any of you are headed down to bike week on the OBX let me know.I have cold beer firewood! |

The wife and I are thinking about doing the homecoming ride. Did not get tickets for the banquet or anything but still would like to go just to have the experience. Who all is going up and when? I could definitely do a group ride up. Post up or PM me with details and hopefully we can make it a group ride up. Jimmy |

Nobody coming to April Buell's Day this weekend? Unfortunately for me that's an affirmative. I was planning on it, but lately my plans seem to have a way of not coming to fruition. I really hate that I am going to miss it so I hope there will be plenty of pictures and other documentation of the fun I will be missing. Have fun and please let me know what fun I missed, 1313 |

Hey all, I'm riding south from Quantico, Va to Pensacola, Fl end of May. I've got my route via the Blue Ridge Pkwy, Dragon, Cherohala Skywy, etc. My route is planned up to the Ga border. Any good roads I should hit in SC on my way through to Fl??? I'm not afraid to detour for a good road/event as my schedule may be flexible . If you like you can post here or on my Tale section thread, "Quantico to Pensacola" Thanks... |

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say hello. I hope everyone is being safe(Rubberdown ;0). I am doing well and living in a nice place. Only 6-7 miles from Disney, and we have couch space if anyone needs it. Start actual classes monday, so wish me luck. I miss my Buell a lot. As for the Yamaha(2000 YZF 600 for those who missed it)I have got it about 90%. The previous owner did some really stupid things, so there are some frame cosmetic issues that have to be addressed(but it will take sand blasting and painting to fix). Body work is in decent shape and I will be slowly getting it ready to paint. Engine is wonderful, runs great especially for carbs. I replaced the chain, throttle cables, speedometer cable, clutch cable, re-jetted it and it seems wonderful now. Fires right up, and runs smooth. I wound it up to the red line yesterday, hit around 70 in first front tire came off the ground for second, had to let up when triple digits were coming up fast. Has plenty of power, torque doesn't seem bad for a 4 banger. Clutch will need replacing soon, but its not slipping. Suspension is good, seems solid enough, especially with my fat butt on it. The pegs suck, and are very low also. Finding rear sets for a bike this old is hard so, I may just opt for a custom fix of my own and deal with them being low. Riding position isn't bad, and you can ride longer than a lot of the new sport bikes (my bolt included) out there. No seal leaks anywhere. I am going to change out the fuel line and a new clutch later will make this a great commuter bike. I am thinking of removing the decals and painting it a gunmetal grey and reapplying red stock type decals. But that will be in the winter time. Anyway I am off to walk the dog. Everyone ride/drive/walk...oh, you get the idea. Be Safe. Larry. |

U4euh, My route is only planned up to the Dragon. I was open to any route south from there to hit some good roads. If I didn't get any suggestions I was just gonna head due south and go see Atlanta. Any roads I should see in SC or GA??? Thanks, Chuck |

While we would for you to come this way, from the dragon your best shot is to follow 129 south into GA over to The Richard B. Russell Highway. Take that to Helen, GA. Or From 129 hit Wolf Pen Gap road towards Suchas. Once in Suchas take a left, or right, on Hwy 60. Great riding either direction. I could play in that area all day! Suchas also has TWO's resteruant and room rentals, see www.TwoWheelsOnly.com for more info!! |

Check with the Ga Highway patrol, I think Richard B. Russell Highway is closed with a rock slide too! |

Just came back from the area; Richard B. Russell is closed for re-paving. PLENTY of other good roads in the area though. In SC, 28, 178, and 276 near the NC state line are all great roads. (Message edited by hughlysses on April 27, 2010) |

Hi C3'ers, Sure am glad it's Spring! Schedule is heating up: May 13-16 Advrider Eastern Rendezvous at Stations Inn. It's gonna be one whale of a party. May 23 track day at VIR on the HP2 with it's new FastBike Industries suspension. June 7 California Superbike School at Barber on the BMW S1000RR. Can't wait to track that bike! July 8-17 Tour on the GSA from here to OK, NM, AZ, UT, CO and back again. Lots of back country touring and not much interstate. I love that area. In between ... everything else and lots of riding. Good luck with the school Larry! Nice seeing you the other day U4! I wanna ride in the Porsche Twig .... That's gotta be a great ride! Happy Spring ya'll! |

Happy Spring is right! Although with this morning's weather forecast - Sunny and blustery, 68° (blustery at 68° - WTF?) doesn't sound too spring like. What's going on this weekend? More Dave? Except some riding this time? The reason I ask is because my colleague with the XB9SX and 1125R would like to do some riding and is available the entire weekend - minus a meeting with the cable company that should occupy him until ~ 10:00 a.m. Saturday. So, anybody have any ideas? 1313 |

Hi, Thanks to you all. So far its pretty boring. I am doing Ok, just missing my girl badly. Riding everyday and enjoying it. The school just started BMW class on monday. They have 3 S1000's. I do have to tell you Brankin I have been riding at midnight on my way home from school with just a t-shirt. And I live about 5 miles from where you stayed in Orlando, when you were working last time here. I have seen a blast and a 1125R at school. Larry |
