Got these shocks/parts with my S-1W purchase. Owner says the one with the white spring is very expensive and rare. Anyone know what it is?    Not sure where this is even supposed to go?  Here is the shock that came on the bike. Yes I know it's backwards. Someone on here told me this is the "fix" for the stock S-1 White Lightning shock? Is that true?  | ||

The White spring model is a factory WP shock. They were all recalled due to failures because of low weight limits from what I've heard. I'd like to have one for my S2 though. | ||

That white spring one is not a WP. Looks like a Works but I am not 100% | ||

Looks like someone cut off the passenger peg attaching points on the frame as well. ...and what kind of swingarm is that? | ||

It's not a Works. The white spring is an older AST shock 2nd shock is a stock 14.5" 3rd is the resevevior for the first if I'm not mistaken which attaches where that brass bolt is methinks. I'm pretty sure they redesigned them awhile back, so hence why there are some differences, but there is more similarities with the AST than a Works. So is the one that is on my bike now supposed to have a resevoir attached to it? If I had to have one rebuilt for sporting use on my bike which one would you recommend and who should do it for me? When I bought the bike the guy told me the white springed shock, he bought from over seas for a hefty sum. The box he gave me with it says: NEX. Though if I recall I think he said it was an AST from the Netherlands. How does the preload adjustment work on this thing? The AST shock I mean? It seems foreign to what I'm used to with that strut thingy. That seperate remote resevoir I have in the pic says "Made in USA" on it. So why would it be for a Dutch made AST shock? The resevoir could've been made by a separate company, like RaceTech or Traxxion Dynamics. I know both these companies rebuild Tuber suspensions. Maybe the PO wanted a resevoir with a longer line, so he could attatch it to the frame to make it adjustible on the fly. | ||

Lots of Brit Buellers run w/ AST's, and swear by them (as opposed to swearing AT them :-) - you'll surely get good info on the AST on UKBEG - I think Ron, the AST guy from the Netherlands, is on there as well. | ||

what's the deal with the PO that bought an expensive shock from overseas and he keeps it in the box and rides with a stock shock?!?!?! that shock is a good one, you can see it from the making, the components, regardless the brand. put it on your bike and have it tuned for your weigh and your riding style, even though it seems to be a 16.5" length while now you have a 14.7" bracket on your bike. | ||

If I decide to put on the AST shock, where do I mount the preload adjuster? My bike obviously came mounted with the shock that doesn't have it and I don't see any bracket where one would mount? |
