I put this in the frame section of the forum but think it would be better here: I have an '09 XB12R and I'm trying to find out whether there is any deliberate offset between the centerlines (drawn on the ground) of the front and rear wheels. Mine is measuring a 26mm offset with the front wheel to the right of the rear. I got some slightly cruder measurements off 3 other bikes: '04 XB12S Lightening – no offset '05 XB12S Lightening - 20mm offset to right '06 XB12 Thunderbolt - 20mm offset to right I'm trying to establish if my bike is factory standard or has been in an accident Brgds, Tim |

I find it odd to have that much miss-alignment on a bike with a non adjustable axle. Curious as to method you are using to get these measurements. String Wire Straight Edge 2x4 |

Damn Don't know much on the XB's but are the spacers in their proper place? Both front and rear. Last I checked 20mm is about 13/16 and 26mm is over an inch. (Message edited by Buell_Bert on April 29, 2010) |

I've measured 5 other bikes now and all have a similar offset with the front wheel to the right of the rear, except an 04 which had the wheels dead in line. Apparently a lot of the Suzuki and BMW ranges have models with wheel offset as a standard - theory is it helps the designers fit in fatter wheels while keeping the chain alignment etc ... |
