What isn't reported in that article, the guy that crashed it happens to own a business repairing exotic cars. Also, there is a video of the crash, and no pelican in sight. |

As far as cars go, I think about any motorcycle can take about any car. Yes, a sweeping generality, I know. The simple issue is horsepower and torque versus weight. A car just weighs a lot. You could probably take a Fat Boy and smoke most any car. Here is where the trouble lies. If you start racing cars, some dumb dumb in his Corvette, or AMG Mercedes, or Beemer (you name it) is going to kill himself and some innocent trying to show how fast he is. If you smoke him, he is going to forget that he has to stop, and slam into the traffic ahead.....particularly if he has been drinking. I'm with the guys above who smile and let the idiots go. |

I find it hard to believe that a bugatti veyron has to be shipped to france to change the tires. I remember on top gear they said the tires only last 15 minutes if you go 200mph, so how could you have any fun if you have to ship it to france all the time? |

One Veyron owner actually pays to have his shipped to his favorite roads as its cheaper due to reduing the wear and tear. I never heard the must ship to France thing before, but it wouldn't surprise me. Then you get people here bitching about waiting 2 weeks for a $30 harness |

If you start racing cars, some dumb dumb in his Corvette, or AMG Mercedes, or Beemer (you name it) is going to kill himself and some innocent trying to show how fast he is Or kill YOU. I just get plain scared playing with cars. One little mishap is catastrophic for the rider and a fender bender or less for the cager. There have been a couple occasions where I have indulged and smoked a car only to have the cager come flying past at some unGodly speed WAY after I had shut it down and close to the legal speed limit. Scary stuff. I also had a recently run in with a yellow suped up corvette in the foothills. Guy damn near wrecked trying to stay in front, rather than let me pass. At the next stop sign he let me go by without incident. I think he nearly crapped himself or maybe he did--at least that's the look he had on his face. |

> I find it hard to believe that a bugatti veyron has to be shipped to france to change the tires. Well, believe it. One of the members at my track has one, and he confirmed that new tires requires pulling the wheels in the states and shipping them to France where they are mounted. He suggested a set of tires was more like $32,000. Terrible track car, really. Even the Miatas were running circles around it. |

the Veyron is a straight-line horsepower machine. Too heavy to go around corners really fast. |
