Sorry, 1125R, superbike XB whatever NOT! I would say the same thing if he took a XB12R and put Uly stuff on it. Lets take the XBRR and ride it to work, then bitch about it wears out tires and doesn't heated grips. Backwards. |

Funny you say that, I turned my Lightning into a Uly, now I am turning it into a street legal XBRR, oh, and it has heated grips |

Little suggestion/s, use a lock nut, safety wire or at least loctite those bolts under the seat. You’re going to get vibration and with the clamp load being on the plastic, those nuts are going to loosen over time for sure. In addition, since the load is on the plastic, it'd be best to use a larger washer to keep the top bag from pulling the bolts through. (Message edited by arcticcr on May 01, 2010) |

But nothing tops this "internet tough guy". I got this via PM a few ago. Isn't he cute, hahahahahhaaa, LAME. Hey tough guy, let me know the next time your in Ca. we can hop in a ring together and play around a bit, have your health insurance card ready. "Seriously man learn to shut the up. You can scream Internet tough guys all you want. The man spent slot of time building the bike to suit his needs for commuting and made it easily changeable back to what the bike was supposed to do. Creative criticism is one thing but being an ass hat is another. If you wanna talk about it more PM me your number and we can discuss it. The government sends me to Cali a few times a year so if you want to meet up and discuss your attitude we can do that also. Your call! Jimmy" Now thats FUNNY! Hey dumb ass, its just MY OPINION, DEAL WITH IT! |

I have to admit, your comments on another thread inspired me to take those pictures and present them here. There haven't been too many threads on here lately other than problems (I'm responsible for a few of those), and it seemed like some variety was in order. The internet does bring out the expert and skullcracker in everyone. |

No you were just being a douchebag and disrespecting another Buell owner by telling them how they totally gayed up their bike. That's not the same as wondering why... I wonder why about a lot of things, but if I don't want to come across as a total douche I keep my piehole shut about it. Your opinion: I dealt with it. |

Ron, i like that you tailored your bike to suit your tastes. i've been looking at getting the bar risers, and i bought a spare rear seat to attatch luggage to, i just havent hacked it up yet. what can you say? some people just make friends every where they go ... |

Steeltech, yeah, you can have my garage. It's going to even be up for sale soon. It can be yours for the low, low, low price of around $750,000. Even comes with a couple of 10 ton cranes |

If anyone is interested in this topbox, here's the manufacturers website. It's the 929 model. As Ron said, it's not as heavy quality as Givi, but a great product for the price. I bought some weather piping from Home Depot and tucked into the lower seal. I found this mod on a Triumph forum and it supposedly greatly improves the water tightness. I also painted the orange plastic piece to match the frame. http://www.bestemtopbox.com/product_info.php?produ cts_id=1 |

Nice price, nice mods Ron. I just picked up an 09 Uly to use as a "pick-up truck" bike and for 2-up riding. Stopped by the liquor store on the way home and had my backpack, a couple of bottles and a 12 pack of Henry Weinhards all fit in the top box. WOW Z |

Wayne (98s1), Mountainstorm is 100% accurate in his advise. Just walk away from the thread. If you were a newb, you'd already be banned. Take a time out. I'm a custodian here, and the above is an official request; if you wish to maintain posting privileges, please honor it. |

Very innovative work Ron. Do you have side bags too? I prefer side bags for the lower cg, really benefits handling. |

I think it looks BA Ron! You can always tell who actually uses their bike as a DD when you see unconventional exercises in storage I would have loved to fab up a tailbox like yours, but I too prefer the lower COG of saddlebags. That being said, I think the tailbox looks great on there. I'll just have to make do with my Cortech Sport saddlebags ... which have surprisingly put up and carried everything I've thrown at them so far (including two 30 packs of Natty Boh going down to my alma mater to watch the season-closing lax game!) Edit: And I'm stoked to see whoever gets the Uly tri-bag setup on their CR/R! It seems like a race now since a few have expressed interest in doing it. I think a fully-faired R with bar risers and a big 'ole comfy seat with the Uly bag system would make a bitchin' sport tourer. (Message edited by jeepinbueller on May 03, 2010) |

IMHO, no one needs to make any excuses for what they do with THEIR bike. Chop it, change it, enjoy it. Steve, that is one of the SWEEEEETEST custom Buells I have seen. That thing has to be just a riot to ride. I agree, I want your garage. Enjoy. |

Blake, no sidebags except soft ones if I ever needed them. I would prefer sidebags if it weren't for the lane splitting limitations they impose by adding width. Of course I don't go between cars that are super close like that at speed, but at traffic lights sometimes the room to sneak through wouldn't be there with sidebags. If I had welding skills and equipment, I always thought that the passenger peg mounting holes would be a perfect spot to mount bolt-on saddlebag mounting brackets. |
