It is starting to warm up here in Arizona. This last week, I have noticed that most of the heat from the radiators are coming off of the left side. My left side feels toasty, but nothing on the right side. Is this normal for our bikes, just curious. Do the fans exhaust the heat from the radiators and exit them on the left? Should I feel heat from the radiators evenly on both sides? |

The fans pull air inward toward the center of the bike. Then the air just kinda goes wherever it wants. Kinda strange you feel the heat on the left. I feel it on the right. Sometimes to the point of wanting to get off and make sure I'm not on fire. But that's only when sitting in traffic. |

I have the factory fairings on mine and collect heat on both sides. It is hot, but nothing that is any hotter than my Harley. Feels like riding an air cooled bike at times. |

We should ship 'em all to Siberia where they'll appreciate the "space heater" option. |

Just to muddy the waters - my 2010 CR gets hotter on the left - my 2010 R is maybe slightly warmer on the right ... |

Just my .02 but as soon as I get some time and have 3 weeks downtime, I'm going to take it to the stealership have them remove the headers and send the headers and midpipe from my HMF(of hopefully RT3 at that time) to Jet Hot. They already quoted me a price of $210.00. Its solid up to 2000 degrees and it's supposed to be 4x better than ceramic coating? Don't really know the difference, but I know with the wife I don't need any more heat on the family jewels. |

I am thinking of Venting the pods and reversing the fans air direction. |

I don't feel any heat on either my 08R or 09CR. Yea the bike gets warm, but nothing worse than any other bike, and nothing hot enough to make me think about it. |

Trafford - While not a bad idea...make sure you open more area for air entry into the radiators thAn "just" the fan area. Kinda like the Japanese bikes, full open to the radiator core, with a fan to help blow air at slower bike speeds. The former D. Eslick team liked the reverse air direction...! Mike |

Heat coming from the left... Your bike is obviously suffering from being a Democrat. |

On a serious note to my friends at HD. My 1125R (08) boils gas like every other 08r out there. So the 09 shows up with a coating on (and different) headers, along with heat tape lining the fuel in the frame. Hmmm, seems like the 08s had a heat / fuel boiling problem especially with the formulated gas in winter mo. So why doesen't Harley own up to there warrantee and make the changes the 09 1125r models received. Also they might just add the Cali can (do i need to live in cal) to the list before my garage explodes from the fumes. Harley, are you lisnining. Explosions bring v-large law suites, more than the cost of just doing the right thing and fixing the (known) problems. Don't label me, I love my 1125r but it would be a lot better if I had a better way of resolving my problems through Harley service. Or ya, Harley is replacing my kick stand spring, thats the easy one> "but big law suits" if a rider goes down because of a spring falling out. |

Funny, neither my 08 nor 09 have ever boiled gas.

Guess what? Some people have gotten it under warranty. Just ask for it |

1_mike - If I do it..... I had planned for vents equaling at least double the fan area....a winter project |

Called HD and asked, went to dealer and explained , HD has called them twice about it before i even arrived. Granted the Cali can under warranty with No questions asked. Great service. Now i await the parts. |

Blackbear those are valid issues and it has been discussed here quite a bit. It does not matter where you live the cali can is a warranty deal, no problem just give them a call. follow up and let us know how it goes. |
