The American Sport Bike pins are good. Al is right about the high chance of cross threading the OEM bolts. The value of the pins is beyond the price alone. I've wondered why Buell didn't design a latch on the seat with a double action key to release both seats. Then I wonder why they fired the exhaust outlets into the rear wheel? Aseecobra, Thats exactly what i told my bike mech...i asked him if they had a double latch system that would work with my bike and then he turned me over to the idea of seat pins...a double latch would have made so much sense. axl |

My pins work fine as well as: ceramic coated heat shield, ZG Double Bubble windshield, Throttlemeister bar ends, and probably 6 or 8 more things that I've forgotten about this morning. 90% of my stuff on my 1125rt has come from Al. The other stuff he doesn't carry so I go else where. Time2Ride Neil S. |

I can say for certain that the PINS are made in the US, we have them made locally. The Hardware is hard to say. The lanyards don't say where they are made, the cotter keys are at least PACKAGED in Wisconsin, don't know that they're made there, doesn't say. The nuts package says "May contain product from one or more of the following countries: USA, China, Japan, Italy, India, Vietnam, Taiwan, UK, Canada, or Thailand". Such is the nature of our global economy these days.... Al |

Chris, Every time I start the bike and watch the exhaust blow across the brakes I ask myself, "how long till this creates a problem?" Seems like the acidity of exhaust fumes and moisture blowing that close to the brake components would create an issue of deteriorating parts and seals. But, like they say, "what could POSSIBLY go wrong." Chris |

Al thank you for the comprehensive response. wasn't a challenge but a curiosity due to the 'global nature...' as you put it. there are very very few things truly made here anymore. so far i haven't felt the need for pins but because i can be lazy sometimes i'll likely just buy them from you when/if the time comes. |

Those pins (or something similar) should have been part of the stock setup. I love the pins. Great idea Al. |
