I know this has been talked about in the past, has anyone found a good way to apply heat reflecting "stuff" to the bottom of the airbox? Problem reports seemed to point to cold air temperatures messing with the intake charge which seems counter intuitive since there is a temperature sensor in the airbox. I think I'm going to put some stuff on the frame and under the seat, wanted to know if I should buy enough for the airbox too. |

Odie from Special O.P.S. also a board sponsor, sells heat barriers for the airbox and under seat applications for reasonable cost if interested. http://www.specialops-online.com/11401.html If you are into DIY I would buy enough material for the airbox as well, science projects are fun. |

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-c atshow/XB12Xframe.html This roll is plenty for your frame, air box and most of your seat. It works very well. |

Interesting that Odie doesn't use the sticky backed material from DEI. I was thinking of just buying some of the sticky backed "tape" like material and going at it, but I remember reading about a couple people that had problems with air temperature. Obviously there must have been something wrong with their bikes if many people are using this stuff without problems. (Message edited by Greg_E on April 27, 2010) |

What Tdiddy said. I've done all three of my Buells...including (frame interior also) the bottom of the air box. Mike |

I use odies heat barriers and they work great. And part of the reason he doesn't use sticky backed material IMO is for one it's the cloth type stuff. VERY high quality. And two so it's removable. I take mine off in the winter so I get a little extra warmth in the key area of my body. I have a summer setup and a winter setup on my bolt. Works great for me! |

I have a tape from summit. works great under the lower airbox. It also works wonders on the inner frame rails. I personally think that should have been factory on the frame. |

I've got to get Odies airbox and seat barriers, wrap the exhaust and line the inner right side frame with that DEI janks. DEI Reflect-A-Cool works very well on fairings and belly pans btw. Keeps my Jardine from melting the belly paint |
