repost.... but with a video While riding the instrument cluster LCD will spontaneously display "SYSTEM VOLTAGE", no check engine light, tach is frozen, no time display, no neutral light, no brights light, no speed is displayed. Head light, tail light and ignition appear to be the only electrical things working. Bike seems to be running fine. Pull over, stop, turn off engine. check for codes... NO CODES. Restart and everything is fine until it happens again. any thoughts.. stator seems obvious. I have an appointment with my local HD service next week but would love some badweb experts to chime in! todd |

if you are getting a voltage error, it is most likely due to a loose ground connection, or a missing ground connection. If you are not grounded properly, extra charge can build up and will have no place to go, the extra charge will create its own voltage, which will mess with the voltage of the ic. When you restart the bike, maybe the charge is dissipated somehow? |

Odd I would expect a stored DTC. If you lose voltage or comms to the IC, you get a Comm Sys error with a DTC. If it's reproducible, get it to the dealer ASAP. Zack |

follow up: Fixed with a "new" flash. Huh a new flash within 2 weeks? whatever. i think this is what happens when you have the new charging harness installed and you DO NOT get the new ECM calibration. oh well. I have done a 1000 miles and no more problems |
