hey all! i am planning a trip starting in delaware, where i reside, to skyline drive, down blue ridge parkway, over to the dragons tail, then beat feet back up 95 to delaware. i am planning on taking about 5 days to do this. stopping on the way to camp, fish, and enjoy a cold beer next to a warm fire (after the day of riding). this is taking place tentatively between the 18th and 27th of july. so far there will be three of us going the whole way. the only downside is that the speed limit is 35 the whole way =/ but this is an invitation to ALL badweb bikers!!! come for the whole ride or just come for a day when or if we ride close enough to your neighborhood. the more the merrier!!! please let me know if you can take off or when you will be available if you want to come. i will try my best to organize this. as july gets closer i will have a specific route with where we are going to stop and so forth. my e-mail is tigweld@gmail.com |

I got my best tank of gas on my 1125CR on the Blue Ridge/Skyway, 54mpg. Fantastic roads, beautiful sites, and deer that don't give a crap and just stand in the road ignoring you |

Skyline is full of speed nazis...but once you get to the Parkway it lightens up noticably. You can keep a "normal" pace on the Parkway. You're gonna HATE 95. I'd run a secondary route using 81 - still superslab, but not nearly as mind-numbing. Or as much like a perverse game of Frogger. You'll have to figure a jump east from 81 once you get closer to home....but it's definitely worth it IMO. Figure your route and your timing. I live on I-70 in MD, halfway between 95 and 81. If it's a Weds or a Sunday, I'll join ya for a stint (those are gonna be my days off at the new gig). |

good idea ratbuell. i recently made a trip to georgia from delaware and back and took 95 the whole way. on my stock seat i was very sore after 13 straight hours. changing the view will not help my keister but a change of the monotonous scenery should be nice. |
