What brand are these spools? http://keda-design.com/spool_installation/spool.ht ml I was hoping to avoid doing this, but my current location pretty much requires me to work off of bike stands....so i must do what I must do. They appear to be a solid make and have a decent fit. If anyone has another brand with similar design I might be interested. I already have a pitbull rear stand so it would be nice if you knew it would fit that lift. Thanks for the help. |

I think he makes those spools. He also makes adapters that clamp onto the swingarm so you can use spools without any drilling. (Message edited by froggy on April 25, 2010) |

http://www.keda-design.com/shop/article_1/Buell-11 25-R-Spool-Adapter.html?shop_param=cid%3D1%26aid%3 D1%26 It's only the bracket to hold the spool. You can either get them from HD or buy any generic 6 MM spool set. I'm still waiting on the factory spools from HD, it's been 2 months now. |

HD makes the spools that work with Dean's adapters. Here they are on my bike along with the Dark Horse Spool/Sliders

These adapters can use the 09-10 factory spools for either the R or the CR. I don't have their part number handy, but I think they were around $5-6 each. Otherwise, ebay for 6 mm spools. Here's an example, no it's not my ebay stuff. It's just a random set. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T-Rex-6mm-Spools-Sw ingarm-Sliders-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem518b02a f7dQQitemZ350224559997QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fA ccessories |

Dean, I noticed you have a warning about removing the bracket after service. I am a bit paranoid and like to put the bike on the stand anytime it sits in the garage. Is there a real danger in leaving the brackets / spools on all the time? How do the brackets attach? |

Well, I'm not going to say you can't leave them on once you've got them in your hands, but I take no responsibility in the event of an accident. Basically, it's to cover my butt. They take all of 30 seconds to put on or take off, most of that time is spent looking for an allen wrench that fits. I know for sure at least one guy leaves his set on all the time and they haven't fallen off or caused a crash, but I personally wouldn't recommend leaving them on. |

Pa1125r, I screwed up and forgot I left them on after taking that photo. A couple hundred miles later they were still there. |
