I bought an enclosed haulmark ramp door motorcycle trailer about 8 years ago. It's a single axle, 13' v-nose type with 6' inside roof. I really like it for just about everything. I have it set up for moving arcade equipment and only recently motorcycles. It's hard to tow without anything smaller than a 1/2ton truck. due to the air resistance. | ||

Froggy- 1. Primary reason is to haul one to two bikes at a time but also need for occasional haul of riding mower or moving apartment furniture, etc. 2. Smaller the better but a little more than adequate for the job. 3. Prefer enclosed but willing to look at open because they are so much less money. 4. Jeep Cherokee V8 and Dodge Dakota V8. A guy near me makes custom open trailers to any specification...3500lbs sprung axle, beaver tail, planks or no, rails or no, ramps or no, tire channels or no, built like a tank. I think you would be in for about $1k-$1.5k for a decked out square tube steel trailer. | ||

Take a look at the Kendon "Stand-Up" trailer. When not in use, it stands up in the Garage (And then you don't have to mow around it). I have 29K miles on my Kendon 2-rail. | ||

The other nice thing about the Kendon dual rail - you can remove the bike chocks with just a couple bolts, and then you have a flat deck for the ATV or garden tractor. Also, they haul just fine with only one bike on 'em - they don't get "lopsided" at all. | ||

Daniii and Ratbuell - Thanks very much. Looks good. Found a dual rail less than 100 miles down the road. Will check it out this weekend. Petereid - That's interesting. I've never thought about something like that but my wife is retiring the end of this month and my son is off to college so maybe it is time to shift into another gear. Kirb - Thanks again. Only advise is to undo the right side strap first and lower it onto the kickstand. Otherwise you get to order a new rad cover and brake lever like I did. | ||

be aware if you really want a trailer. i ahd friends that took their bikes in a trailer. while sleeping at daytona someone decide to stell the trailer with the bikes at the motel. fortunatly the cops are aware of this amount of crime during bike week and stop the bastards and busted them big thanks to Florida troopers | ||

Only advise is to undo the right side strap first and lower it onto the kickstand. Otherwise you get to order a new rad cover and brake lever like I did. ...and that's only AFTER you kick the sidestand forward to make sure it's locked. They like to get wiggled backwards when bikes are strapped in. DAMHIK. | ||

fortunatly the cops are aware of this amount of crime during bike week Exactly. If you don't frequent hot beds of crime, take precautions & use common sense you will be fine with a trailer. |
