After coming back to the UK to race in the British Superbike series for Yamaha, Neil Hodgson has sadly announced his retirememt from the sport due to ongoing shoulder problems that are a legacy of his training crash at the end of 2008. He didn't even make the first round after crashing in practice at Brands Hatch and re-injuring his shoulder again Sad loss, I was looking forward to seeing Neil back in BSB again after such a long time away. |

Sad loss indeed. Neil is a great rider and even nicer guy. I remember meeting him at Barber with my father. He was very cordial and spent a good 20 minutes talking with my father (a Yorkshireman). It made my dad's weekend.

An autographed poster is framed and hanging in my Son bedroom from Road America when he raced for the Ducati SB team. One of my favorite all time racers. I wish him well. |

I met him at Daytona when he first came here to race AMA. Very approachable guy indeed. |

Good luck in your next adventures, Neil. Anybody know what Chaz Davies is up to this year? |

Anybody know what Chaz Davies is up to this year? Chaz is racing the Triumph 675 in World Supersport and starting to make his presence felt. He scored a great 3rd place for the team at Valencia and was 4th at Assen last weekend, so is currently 4th in the championship standings. I always thought Chaz was unlucky not to have got the Pramac Ducati GP ride on a full time basis but hopefully this will see his career back on track in the big time. |
