Does any one know of an oil preassure guage I could put on my s2 with the guage mounted in the dash? edited by chewy on June 22, 2004 |

Any gauge will work,take your pick whether you want a mechanical or an electric.Just swap your idiot light sender for an electric sender or run a line to a mechanical--or even tee it to run gauge and idiot light. |

be prepared for wildly varying reading from cold to hot . . . . . that ol 50wt will give you some prodigious pressures when you firts start up on a chilly morning, and drop waaaay down once fully warmed . . .. this is normal, and nothing to be concerned about, but does guide you in picking the guage (nothin that tops out at 40/50 psi -- I've seen as much as 100 psi outa a cold big twin) |

I've also seen 0 PSI on a hot Panhead that was running fine. Roller bearing motors don't need a lot of pressure. As long as oil is circulating, (looking in the oil tank), I don't get concerned. |

I think an oil temperature gauge might be more informative. |
