Do you think I should pull the seals off the brand new bearings and add grease before I put it together? Now I need to search on directions on how to tighten the axle (including torque specs). Are the numbers the same for 07 and 2010 rims? |

I wouldn't tamper with the new bearings. Have faith in the factory doing a good job that day! |

'Do you think I should pull the seals off the brand new bearings and add grease before I put it together?' I agree with Nate... don't mess with em. I don't know the torque specs, but I just snug mine up. The pinch bolt is what holds the axle in. To much torque will just bind up the bearings and put stress on your swing arm. |

I only have an 04 manual at this time. Does this sound correct for the rear axle? 6. With wheel centered in swingarm, lower bike to align swingarm and wheel hub. (not really sure what they are talking about here.) 7. Tighten rear axle to 23-27 ft-lbs, back off two full turns and then re-tighten to 48-52 ft-lbs. 8. Tighten pinch fastener (2) on right side of swingarm to 40-45 ft-lbs. |
