Alright, y'all have been here before but... After several runs down some nice roads in the back country, about all I see is about 110 indicated. I am well pleased because the bike is too much fun to be worry with top speed, just curious if this is about right for an '09 XB9SX, bone stock with short miles. Do I need to try harder? How about change to synthetic oil? |

Fifth gear? My 03 XB9 will do 110 in fourth topped out. |

Thanks Mr. G. Yep, 5th gear! Looks like I'm about right by your throttle cable stretching results! |

How about change to synthetic oil? I don't know if it'll run faster, but it will run cooler. |

My 03 will easily do 110 (indicated) in fourth, and still seems like there is enough power in 5 to hit the 125ish mark. And that is on the crap 10% ethanol gas with an afv of 115 due to the lesser amount of fuel in the mixture. |

the bike should do better than that, my 2003 1200 sportster full screaming eagle engine will do 126 mph on the gps screen data. I would think a xb9 should be good for at least 120 mph unless the gearing is lower. |

I did about 100 mph just a couple weeks ago and that was in forth gear. On my last 03 it didnt have a hard time at all hitting over 120 mph. |

I just haven't been willing to risk it, I'm certain my old 9r would do 125 all day long if I had the road to do so. |

A few years ago, I went all squidly for about 50 miles or so. We were coming back from the Vortex Bike Night on HWY78. When the highway got straight I got on it and stayed on it until I hit the rev limiter in 5th gear. Indicated a 135 almost 140. FWIW |

I've hit around 130ish (not fun to look down at that speed at the gauges!) on my 9R with Jardine. Now with Open Airbox maybe I can squeeze a few more mph out of her. |

I've had mine tapped out bouncing on the rev limiter.. not sure the exact speed since my speedo wasn't working at the time, but I would guess 135mph |

maybe I can squeeze a few more mph out of her. If you were at the rev limit, you'll not go any faster with any mods, other than gearing. Maxed out is maxed out. Your mods may get you there quicker though. |

Now I am getting scared I will have to try again because, although my 9 gets to 110 fairly quickly, it does not seem like it wants to pull after that. This time I'm going to wind it up in 4th and see. Did I say how much fun my 9SX is at any speed? Oh Yeah!!! |

135mph is the top speed of an XB9, banging off the rev limiter in 5th gear. I'll be sure to wave as I pass you at 135 in 3rd gear on one wheel on my ride |

I'll be sure to wave as I pass you at 135 in 3rd gear on the bikes side. Fixed it for you Froggy |

i have a stock 09 xb9sx and was riding with some jap bikes from work and i kept right up with them till about 127ish. then i slowed down. the wind at that speed is to much with no fairings like they have. |

my 12R showed me 145mph indicated once... But I lost one of my flip-flops and my sunglasses flew off so I had to slow down.

Didn't get to stretch the 9's legs today, too much traffic and really needed to do the 1600KM service stuff. Demarsico... got the same ride as mine and hit 125+ now I am really getting scared... I'll try again tomorrow if possible. Maybe I need to invest in a N2O2 setup? |

Got up to 115 hugging the tank and stretching the cable. It was still pulling some before I had to give it up. Didn't get the some what elusive 130+ some are pontificating. ...might be more like getting pregnant... the fun is in the trying |

I have an 07 9 and I've hit 130 with no problems. It seems to want to keep pulling even when I've let off after hitting it |

Yeah, I'm a pretty big guy(230#s) and live a mile high and have hit 125 indicated on my 2003 XB9s. Just don't tell my mom, please! I might be able to get a little more out of the bike but I think that is pretty much tops. It's funny but a gal rider friend who once tried an XB9r said she couldn't push it past 110, too. She is way lighter than me so I was puzzled. She was left with the impression that Buells didn't have much power! Oh well. |

You should just break 90 in third, 110 is an easy step away in fourth if you can't get over that, something it not normal. |
