After 3500 miles, I was finally able to break the 40mpg mark. When I filled up the bike this morning, I was surprised to see 41.3mpg. Ever since I got the bike, I only saw 32-35mpg. It looks like it's finally breaking in......I'm pretty happy about it and I wanted to share -Nick- |

Almost there. By 5K you'll be out of infancy. It only gets better from here! |

Sounds like you have almost got it broke in.Kinda strange how a 1200 can be so fuel efficient.I guess thats why we love them so much.Peace and grease,Lesley |

Nothing strange about it, the long stroke tends to do it. I'll keep my numbers out of this post |

http://www.fuelly.com/driver/docutech/xb12s I admit that I often get the urge to open up the taps. Not bad IMO. |

What I like the most about these bikes and fuel economy wise is you don't see much of a drop in MPG when you ride it hard, vs just cruising. I know my FZ6 would guzzle gas when I would wind her up. |

I gotta say I miss the great mileage my XB delivered. My Z1000 gets worse mileage than my car, but then again it has more horsepower so I guess it's a fair trade. |

To make it 214 miles on an 1125R without having the fuel light come on is freakin impressive! 49.24 mpg. Wow. |
