got an Idea here....yeah yeah yeah I know..not again. mostly what we hear is about the screw up dealers. lets try this . don't even metion the bad dealers. Just the good ones. What I mean by good are the ones that have continually proven them selves. They display Buell parts and accessories, and not just a few. When you had questions , they were there for you. When you needed service they were there for you. and did a good job. when Buell has had promos, they are involved, They do test rides. They have more knowledge than what is in the brochure. you get the Idea. Dealers that understand these bikes are great and that yes they can sell. and after they sell one, your hair don't turn red and you are blood family. lets post up ...... I am willing to say that the Lakeland, FL HD/Buell dealer meets those criteria. I haven't had my bike serviced there (yet) but they have all the rest. | ||

Good Idea Bubba... Make a Buell Dealer gold star list (not red star  ) F&S Buell in Dayton gets my vote. Good guys in both parts and service. Modesto Buell also gets a vote, they helped me out in the past as well. edited by reepicheep on April 08, 2004 | ||

Mayer HD in Mayer AZ is great. Not too many parts but it seems they have 'most everything Buell offers. Service has been good so-far. For the 1K service I asked for synthetic and noticed the tech putting regular oil in. asked the service manager if he had mentioned to the tech that I wanted synthetic... He said "No... but I will right now...". They poured out the regular and filled it with synthetic. Other than that they have been perfect. Their Sister store is up north on Hwy 40. I have heard they are good too, and before I bought my 12R from Daves I asked them a few questions and they seemed knowledgeable. | ||

I'd have to aside from Tilley's, where Brian has earned all but a few of my accessory dollars, Shelton's Goldsboro, where I bought my XB has been very good to me. Both Dave and John in sales are XB owners and up on the product, Lee and the guys in service have treated me very well. F&S in Dayton is good also. Bought a Buell Racing helmet from them last Christmas while visiting family. They were friendly and knowledgeable. | ||

I bought my bike from Toledo HD/Buell (formerly Sylvania HD). I live about 2.5 hours away, so I haven't really been around the shop to rate their inventory of parts/accessories, test rides, etc. However, I can vouch for the staff's friendly attitude, salesmanship and thorough customer care. There were many enthusiastic Buell riders working there, including the sales manager and the service manager. They all seemed to have first hand experience with and compliments for Buells. They were even excited about my inexpensive little Blast! They were easy to wheel and deal with. I got a nice price. When I found out my regular insurance agent didn't give me everything I needed to close the deal, the sales manager hooked me up with an agent for HD insurance. Their current facility is rather old and small, but they packed a lot of bikes in it (more than I've seen, in these parts). There is a 'Buell Room' with all the bikes and a 'Buell Wall' for buyers to sign. It will be cool, if they have something similar, when they move into their new building, which is under construction. The weather was too icy and cold for me, as a new rider, to risk riding home that day. The service manager personally delivered my bike 2 business days later. He walked me around the bike , again, giving maintenance/operational advice and answering all my questions. They called me a few days later, to see how I was doing and see if I had any problems/questions. I went out of my way(geographically) to that store, even though there are a half dozen Buell dealers closer, because they WANTED my business and they were excited about Buells. BTW, I don't mean to imply that the closer dealers treated me badly, none of them did. Even so, when I am ready to shop for my XB, I'll start in Toledo. | ||

I know I will get razzed for saying Appleton Harley since Dave is now moving there, but I have been using that dealership for the past year and a half. Their best point was service. Price, performance, and honesty have been perfect every time I have been there. Their weakest point has been their lack of Buell sales and salesman knowledge. Not to mention their lack of clothing. I got a good feeling that may improve though. | ||

SANTA FE HD/BUELL in Santa Fe, New Mexico... Their service department is #1 as far as I'm concerned. They went the extra mile helping me after my S2 was stolen, getting it on the road, and then setting up my "new" S2 with the Nallin kit. They've always been VERY Buell friendly and customer satisfaction is #1 on their priority list. | ||

Thanks Brian. Of late I must say for small stuff and a TPS reset I had a good experience with Hacienda HD/Buell. They are a boutique, they are lacking in Buell stuff but are more then willing to jump up and get it in as quick as possible. They have had any consumables in stock that I might need, pads/plugs/gaskets/filters type thing. They were one of the dealers that said tires were flat rate but they only charged me half hour on the TPS reset and had it done fairly quick from the time I dropped it off to the time it was finished. | ||

IL Harley/Buell, Berwyn, IL, sponsor road racers and flat track, has brought in speakers for the Brag club from the Dyno company, Revolution tech, and Team Chicago, sponsors track days, has a great service department, great parts dept. an owner who talks to you, not at you, a dealer that asks the clubs what they would like to see in the show room, always fair, always above the call, and there having an open house this weekend, not only can you pick up the bag, but 20% off all parts ordered those days, they are the only reason i still own a Buell Roger | ||

I agree, Glendale HD/Buell (in Glendale, CA) has done a great job. Always enthusiastic, helpful and provide good support to our BRAG chapter (Golden State). I'll continue to buy from them even if they are not the closest dealer. Timbo | ||

My vote goes for Ernie Williams Ltd. in Algona IA. Granted, they aren't on the same level as Dave and Bubba, but they've served me well. | ||

HD of Baltimore. They're a serious HD dealer up front yet have plenty of Buells on the floor. There are 4 guys in service that really know their stuff and aren't afraid to help you out. I can't tell you how much they have taught me. | ||

Vallejo Buell has been my dealer since 1995(actually before as I bought 3 Harleys from them before I got my Buell)and has been super in every way,even giving me support to go racing.Definitely Buell friendly. | ||

i would say American HD, just cause Spidy works there, but if he ever left, it woudl go right down the crapper. He is the only buell guy there that cares about the Buell motorcyle.... just FYI | ||

OK I'm gonna have to put in a good word for "Roanoke Valley HD& Buell" in Va. I know these guys personally and they treat you like family.The Gen.Mgr. is under thrity and rides a Firebolt,now how cool is that? They keep a good supply of Buell stuff. Their not in Dave and Bubba's league but they try. Their service dept is good, although I have issues with their Dyno operator.I do almost all of my own maintance so I don't have direct knowledge of their"Buell tech". | ||

Stone Mountain HD/Buell is coming round. The parts guys are great, service dept is too damned busy to get to know anyone. So far so good. Lately I've had to go to Earl Small's HD/Buell for some parts and service, because SMHD hasn't had the part I needed and too busy to offer last minute service (TPS), parts girls know what they're talking about or know how to find out fast, service for my TPS was done with little notice. I give put both these guys in good catagory. | ||

Alright... Absolutely COOL! Susie from Mayer HD... I called to see if my race filter is in and she said yes. I asked when they close. 5:00. Hmmm, that's when I get off work... She immediately offers to let me pick it up at her HOUSE at 5:45. The other bonus... She lives about four miles from me as opposed to about 40 to the dealer. A+ service. | ||

Chick's H-D/Buell  in Albuquerque, NM. I drove all the way there in 2000 from Austin, TX to get my X1 as they were the only dealer I could find within a day's drive that WANTED my business. All other local shops would just quote me MSRP (or higher) and "take it or leave it". Chick also has a cool Buell ride in Taos every year. Fortunately things have improved around here since then with Austin H-D/Buell now carrying Buells, supporting our BRAG group and having trained techs. Hey Blake, is there some way to just compile all this into a running list (maybe with votes) somewhere on the board? Then we'd always know where to go to get Buell-friendly service. Mann's HD & Buell Edinburg Indiana. Although they do not have alot of Buell t-shirts and such they do have a pretty knowledgable techs and they always seem willing to help out when stuck in a jam. | ||

Frederick MD hd/BUELL has a good and enthusiastic Buell sales team.  Two brothers that love the bikes and are more than happy to talk to you about them and help you choose the ride and get it home. Service is pretty good,  always gotten it back in good order and with the work done. No major complaints, just don't expect them to EVER call you back on something, they don't do it. Parts seems to be the weakest point. Most of the parts folks just aren't sure that such a bike exists,  or if there are any actual parts on it. Most of us know more about the parts and numbers (excluding you dealer types) on our bikes then they seem too.. (sorry, I couldn't give them an all around thumbs up.. but with Buellers, you must always be honest.) | ||

My Buell experience didn't become enjoyable until I went to Earl Smalls in Marietta, Georgia - the best Harley/Buell dealer I've ever been to. They were the ones who finally told me I had a bad exhaust valve guide that was causing outrageous oil consumption and a horrible ticking noise. The mechanic (I hesitate to call him a "tech", because thats what the idiot from Stone Mountain - the dealer I bought the bike from - called himself) was meticulous and did a perfect job repairing my bike. They never charged me a penny for everything they did, but I know where I'll be spending my money next time.
