You will get a battery light under normal riding conditions. If you fry the stator you will get a CEL also. Been there...at 800 mi. '09R Oct '08 build. STILL waiting on parts after 3 weeks. Losing ANY of my short Ohio riding season is killing me! |

Thanks Freight_Dog. Being from IL, I sympathize with you about the short season. |

Mine was built in 1/09 also and I got my letter about a month ago. I just moved and haven't had a chance to check out any dealers in the area. |

Ok, what have I missed??? I have an '09 1125R, I think it's an october or november '08 build (I'm at work, the bikes at home). Should I get my dealer to check VIN to see if it's eligible for the update? What is the update? "I mentioned the EML and LFL issues too and didn't seem to know what the implications were.. " EML??? LFL?? (Low fuel light?) cheers, chili |

Update completed on my 09 CR with Oct 08 build. It included a new battery since the dealer said the original battery was fried. |

I am not near my 09 1125R now, but I believe the build date is Oct 08. I had my dealer run my VIN through HDNET on Saturday and nothing showed up as pending. He gave me the printout just to make me feel better. Weird that my bike doesn't show anything and others built around the same time do. I haven't noticed the bike running poorly or any other battery related issues, but I do keep it on a Ctek charger all the time when it is in the garage. When I first bought the bike it was in the dealers 'storage area' and the battery was pretty drained. Before I had the charger on it I noticed the bike was slow to turnover and the IC lights would dim when starting. Oh well, maybe when they plug it in for the 620 mile service something will show. |
