Changing out the stock shock for the ebr Showa. I have the from of the bike on the trex stand and a motorcycle scissor jack under the muffler. It seems like the swingarm is already fully extended and against the muffler. But there isn't enough room to get the shock out. Anybody have any thoughts? I'm totaly stumped. |

Remove the top two subframe mount bolts, and rotate it down a bit. The spring is getting hung up on the ground cable and/or perhaps the undertray. Go up and out the top. Be careful maneuvering around the fuel line. |

Not sure if you have a service manual but here's the steps for removal: 1) Remove seat. 2) Remove the battery fuse. 3) Fit a scissor jack under jacking point and raise rear wheel off ground. 4) Remove lower shock mount locknut, washers, bolt and sleeve. 5) Remove upper stock mount fastener and washer. 6) Raise motorcycle up approximately 2 inches (51 mm). 7) Lift and guide shock up to remove shock through the top of the tail section. I hope this helps. |
