Did something like that exist for Buells? Thought that could be convenient to have something easy, just in case you have a belt failure somewhere far away...   Froggy Posted on Friday, April 02, 2010 - 03:39 pm:        Yes, the emergency drive belt for Buell's is an old used belt coiled up and stored under your seat or in your luggage. Sweetness!!! I just got my new belt the other day. I cut the old one and installed some velcro on the ends so I can use it as a spare. OTOH, the glue that would attach it to the drive belt probably wouldn't. I know! It is cut halfway through, then a line along the length of the belt for eight or ten teeth, then the rest of the way through, making 2 ends that are half-thickness. You get a set of screws and an allen wrench in the kit so you can bolt the ends together. Cool idea...but none of the teeth counts match a Buell   Tootal Posted on Tuesday, April 06, 2010 - 08:29 pm:        As mentioned the Buell is easy compared to the Harley. You have to pull the primary cover, clutch and crank sprocket, inner primary and the left side swingarm mount just to get to the belt. Fortunately they seem to last longer than Buell belts. I put 80,000 miles on a Harley belt and only changed it as preventative maintenance.
