My '06 xb9sx had recently had a low battery, due to lack of use over this harsh winter. I trickle charged it and it has been fine since and was last used 4 days ago with no problems. However, I just went to turn it over, turned the key to 'on' and all the lights were normal, the fuel pump primed etc but when I pressed the ignition button it made two loud clicks and then lost all power. There is no power at all to anything now. No lights, sounds or anything on the digital display. I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. There are three grey large fuse things (for the ignition, starter and something else), but I can't tell if they are ok from looking at them. I have read somewhere that the ignition switches can be problematic but I am hoping someone could offer their knowledge and advice on these symptoms. Many Thanks |

You need to charge the battery fully before trying to start it again. Putting it on a trickle charger after a long period of time is not going to work if it was low on charge over the winter. What will help is to charge it at not more than 2 amps for overnight. |
