Quick and easy question that should fall into the archives rather quickly: Do the left and right side oil drain washers really have to be changed every time you untorque the drain bolts? I'm going to do the quick oil change to synthetic this weekend (just over 1,700 miles now!) ... not changing the filter since I just did it at the 620 service. I'm going with Mobil 1 15W-50. I have an extra pair of washers I got from Al, but at $9 for both (plus shipping) I really don't feel like changing them out if I don't need to. Thanks for the help. ~J |

Look back there's a link in here to get them cheap. And to your other ? Do you reuse lock washers cuz there a one time use also. I just ordered 20 oil changes of washers for like $35-40 |

I forgot to get new washers last time I did my R, so I just reused the ones that came on it from the factory. 500 miles later, no leaks, they are still holding, FWIW. |

I've never changed the washers. No leaks in over 15k miles. |

They don't have to changed everytime. Maybe every few oil changes would be adequate. |

I've got four oil changes on my CR with the original washers...no leakage. As long as there are no major burrs that "cross" the radial direction, you should be fine. Mike |
