I strongly recommend everyone out there to get this fixed (12S models). My 12S has less than 2K miles on it and the wire already caused a short last week due to the wire being frayed. Luckily I was not in a corner, nor stuck in traffic so it was OK - just a pain in the ass...

If this were to happen in a corner or at high RPM's there's a good chance of throwing the bike off balance so better safe than sorry - if you are far from a dealer you can "fix" this in 5 mins with a bit of electrical tape & a cutter. Take off the front "number plate" and wrap the yellow wire and the horn screw with electrical tape (cut down the screw if you can) and you're off.

Ride carefully!

yes kaudette is right on point... do check that horn wire. i recommend using a shorter horn mount screw, and apply "chafing gear" (old logging term) to the affected wire. easy fix, enjoy. dean

Good call, I checked mine after reading and sure enough, it has some wear on the yellow wire. Now if only I can find the damn electrical tape, I may be able to fix it under 5 hours.

Thanks,

Jason

I put wire loom on my wire when I did my bars and heated grips. Dont laugh "Once you have heat, you wont ride with out that sheet" I love it 45-50 degrees and Im wearing light riding gloves.
